Transformation Thursday? The first photo is one I posted 2 years ago, the second is the same girl just a couple weeks ago! In these past 2 years she has gone from winning several best of breeds and gone on to be champion and reserve feather leg, to being the corner stone of my whites!

Some may just see a white fluffy chicken, but to me I see the progress I have been working so hard to achieve and the pay offs from said hard work. This girl was a single hatch, from waffle eggs, a true unicorn! For those that have raised a single hatched chick, they know just what a challenge that is 😂 she is now a mother and a grandmother and hopefully in a few weeks, she will be a great grandmother!

After all she has done for my program, she still doesn’t have an official name, I simply call her by her leg band number, 006. As she ages gracefully I have started fondly referring to her as Grandma.

Finding time for your birds living in conditioning cages to roam and be social is so important for their physical and mental wellbeing!

Very excited about this opportunity!

Please help us in welcoming our newest Missouri state representative Lane Miller!! We also want to thank Brett Showmake for his time he gave to the club. He will be missed.

I am so excited to start representing the state of Missouri for the American Silkie Bantam Club! I have had a love of the Silkie breed since I was a child. I got my start many years ago showing silkies in 4-H/FFA, then after a several year hiatus I was lucky enough to get back into the hobby as an adult and I am so thankful for the friendships, lessons learned and community that I have found in the Silkie breed!

I am very grateful to be representing Missouri and can’t wait to advocate for the breed!
