Well, we’ve actually had a pretty nice summer for the Saturday Market. This is the first one where it’s been really raining. It’s the last Market Day of the summer, so I guess we’re going out with a gush!! 💦💦
My little helper (a friend’s daughter) SAYS she wants to be a flower farmer when she grows up. However she got a dose of reality yesterday when she discovered we were going to harvest flowers EVEN in the rain. 👀👀 😄
A bucket of Sunnies always brightens up a gloomy day. 💛🌻💛🌻

Well…it looks like Fall has officially arrived! 🍁 The leaves on the wild rose bushes are turning red and the Highbush Cranberries are ripe. AND….We had our first light frost last night. ☹️ 🥶
It’s always amazing to me how one year can be so different from the last one. Last year we didn’t have a frost until the end of September! We’ll have our last Saturday Market this Saturday. I’m looking forward to things slowing down and getting a little more rest. 😊

Happy National Dog Day! 🩷🐶🐕‍🦺🐕 We love our 3 doggies- Nori, Makks, and Pippin….and so enjoy them on the farm. They are my constant companions in the peony field and Nori gives me lots of great cuddles in the evenings when I’m flopped on the couch, exhausted! 💞 🤪

Happy National Book Lovers Day!! Besides flowers, one of my other “loves” is reading. I was the girl whose mom had to ask her 4-5 times to do my chores because I had my nose in a book. Me- “Just let me finish this chapter.” Mom- “You said that 15 minutes ago!!!” 💞📚📖
I listen to a lot of books on Audible in the summer when I’m out working in the Peony field or putting bouquets together. I much prefer real books tho, and read a lot of those in the winter.
Check out the books I read in July and my 2 favorites from July. I highly recommend listening to The Calamity Club on Audible. The narrators are spot on!! Lastly… my all time favorite book, the one I couldn’t live without. 🥰 (notice the puppy-chewed corner! ) 😊

A cloudy day at the Saturday Market today, but we’ve got lots of cheeriness at the Fox Hollow booth! Every color of the rainbow! 🌈 This time in the summer is so much fun when everything is blooming! 🌺🌸🌼🌻

Today is our Anniversary! 46 years! 🎉🎉 We both used to read Louis L’Amour westerns when we were in Jr high/high school. My hubby often tells me I’m a “woman to ride the river with!” (A common phrase in those books.)😊 It’s been quite the journey… some peaceful water times and some times of hanging on for dear life in the rapids! I’m thankful for the life God has blessed us with.
I’m also thankful for my hard-working man who has been stretched way beyond his comfort level in developing this farm! ( lots of YouTube videos) 😄 He often says there is “not another woman on earth he would do all this for.”
We’re looking forward to many more adventures together. The last pic is us on a Panama Canal cruise last spring. It was amazing…highly recommend.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Happy National Sunflower Day! 💛🌻Sunflowers are my favorite flower…after Peonies, of course! 😊 I made some sunflower bouquets for the Saturday Market to celebrate! 🎉🎉

Always sad days on a Peony farm… when you have to start dead-heading and tossing the spent blooms. We do try to harvest as many open blooms as we can for Peony Potpourri and other petal products, tho.

I just love it when I can show a Florist our farm! 🥰 How cool is it that they can see where and how the flowers they sell in their shop are grown and cared for?? We’ve been shipping our beautiful peonies to Cydney and her awesome team at The English Garden for several years. It was awesome showing her around. 😊 🙌🏻🙌🏻 💞

We offer a Summer Bouquet Subscription here at Fox Hollow. 6 weeks of gorgeous, weekly Peony Bouquets. 💞💞 It’s available in our local community as well as communities north and south of us. (Fairbanks, Anderson, Healy, Clear, Denali canyon.)
Yesterday was the first delivery day of the season in Fairbanks. It’s so rewarding to see those happy faces when they get their bouquets. 🥰
