🐐 Time for another random fact with Broken A Ranch! 🐐

Did you know?

Goats need copper in their diet, but sheep generally cannot tolerate the same levels of copper that goats need.

Copper plays an important role in coat color, immune function, reproduction, growth, and overall health. Goats that don't receive enough copper may develop rough coats, faded coloring, poor growth, reduced fertility, or become more susceptible to illness.

GOAT TIP:
Always use minerals specifically formulated for goats. Sheep and goat mineral needs are very different, and using the wrong mineral can create health problems for your herd.

Do you offer loose minerals free-choice to your goats?

Strong Does, More Milk!

Healthy dairy goats don't produce their best by accident. Consistent care, proper nutrition, and a low-stress environment all play an important role in herd health and milk production.

A successful dairy herd starts with:
• Clean, fresh water available at all times
• Quality hay, forage, minerals, and balanced nutrition
• Regular udder checks and proper milking hygiene
• Routine hoof care and maintenance
• A calm environment that minimizes stress

GOAT TIP:
Small daily habits make a big difference. Healthy does are more productive, maintain better body condition, and are better prepared for future lactations.

Healthy does build strong dairy herds.

Clean Water, Happy Goats!

Water is one of the most important parts of goat health and often one of the most overlooked.

Fresh, clean water supports:
• Digestion and nutrient absorption
• Milk production
• Healthy body temperature regulation
• Better energy and appetite
• Overall herd health and performance

GOAT TIP:
Goats are more likely to drink when water is cool, clean, and easy to access. Dirty water containers can quickly reduce intake.

Healthy hydration helps build healthy goats.
