I’ve been a loyal Masterbuilt customer for years and have owned two of their 40″ smokers. Unfortunately, my latest model (MB20072918) consistently runs 20–30°F cooler than the display, verified by a calibrated ThermoWorks probe.

Support was courteous, but their claim that a 5–20°F variance is “normal” doesn’t match my data or expectations for even cooking. After researching, I found dozens of others reporting the same issue.

If Masterbuilt (now under Char-Broil) is reading this, please take a closer look at your temperature calibration and transparency around performance specs. Loyal customers like me truly want to see this brand regain the reliability it once had.
