Normally, if I have good news and bad news to give I go with the good news first. However, this time there is no good news. So we will just get to it: Nesbit Blueberry will not open this summer for picking due to the freeze in March that took out the crop.
I can assure you no one is more disappointed than we are. But hopefully we will be back on track next summer and in the meantime we will get to all the jobs around the farm we never seem to finish.

The report for this summer at Nesbit Blueberry is not the news we would like it to be. When the last freeze hit (March 17th) the entire field was in bloom and with temps that dropped to 24 degrees we lost every bloom. The premier and climax varieties which make up half the farm are out. I was hoping the Austin’s might rally but so far that has not been the case. The Tiff blue’s might come around. Currently we can’t even say for sure we will open although that is the goal. We hope that we will have a better forecast of our later varieties by mid May and will update accordingly. Until then, happy spring!

And that’s a wrap!

Hard to believe we just completed our 41st season!! It is our absolute honor to be a part of an annual summer tradition for so many. We always enjoy seeing our regulars and love meeting all our new customers each season!

Kudos to our workers and our prepickers who keep our operation running smoothly.

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE!
Last pick will be tomorrow, July 11, from 7am until 10am. This pick will involve some walking and each picker needs to have water with them. The heat can really sneak up on you!

Nesbit Blueberry will be open Wednesday and Thursday mornings (July 9 and 10) from 7am until noon for customer picking only. Please be mindful of the heat and be sure to have water with you!

We supply buckets for picking and bags for you to take them home.

Blueberries are $3 per pound. Cash or check only.

Nesbit Blueberry will be closed Sunday and Monday (July 6 and 7) and from there we will decide if there will be any more picking opportunities as we begin the process of shearing bushes and packing up.

At this time, prepicks are over. If that changes due to Tiffs ripening back up, we will let customers know here and on our website.

Customer of the year!! This picker picked 37lbs on Monday for a total of 212 pounds for the season (7 trips)! 37 gallons!! He picks every year to share with family in Missouri and friends nearby.

We are open today thru Saturday, 7 am until noon!

Cool and breezy this morning! Berries everywhere!! Easy picking.

Hours this week: June 30 - July 5
Monday, (today) until noon
Tuesday- Saturday 7am until noon.
Yes! That means we are open on the Fourth! Red, White and Blueberries!!

Just a few friendly reminders:

You pick blueberries are $3 per pound.
We provide buckets and bag them for you to take home.

Prepicked blueberries are $26/gallon. The ONLY way to order prepicks is to call the farm during picking hours. See above for this week’s days/hours. Phone: 662-449-2983.

We pick the farm systematically- we ask that you respect this and pick where you are assigned.

Sadly, no pets allowed.

We do have picnic tables for anyone wanting to bring a snack or early lunch.

Nesbit Blueberry is opening in the morning, Saturday, June 28, from 7am until noon. We enjoyed a slight break in the heat today and look forward to more of the same tomorrow. Picking will be exceptional.

Sunday, June 29th, we will have an afternoon pick from 4:00-7:15.

Monday, June 30, we will have picking hours from 7am until noon.

Tuesday, July 1, we will be open from 7 until noon.

We will post the remainder of the week Tuesday afternoon.

If you are on the prepick list and have not heard from us at all please call the farm. We must have made a mistake getting your information and need to get that corrected.
