My hubby and I follow this homestead on YouTube. We love watching them. In this video they break down the cost for raising IPPs. We breed and raise IPPs. We love everything about this breed of pig.

Now....I'm going to get on my soap box a bit. I have done the same math as them and get told that it's too expensive. My costs end up right around what they have come up with in this video. I get told that $150 for a feeder pig is too expensive. I have tried several different approaches to selling our pigs...and every avenue I am told it's too expensive. I have even tried selling at our cost and less....and nothing but crickets.

So here is a great video to watch and to help those that say I'm too expensive...this is a great break down. Maybe then you will stop saying I'm too expensive.

How's milking going? How's weaning going?

Well....let me tell you....

Never underestimate an angry mother goat.....I have been separating babies at night to milk in the morning....thought I'd start to separate during the day....well that equals 1 upset mother the next morning and refuses to milk....now to figure out my next step....thats all I got....out of my wrestling match...

Farm Fresh Freeze Dried Eggs-18ct $15

Packaged in a mylar bag with an oxygen absorber then vacuum sealed. These will store for 30 years in an environment controlled atmosphere.

How to mix: 2 tablespoon egg powder + 2 tablespoon water, which equals 1 large eggs.
