It’s that time of year when the cows are everywhere and many places they shouldn’t be like on the road. If you see cows out and about here’s some things to keep in mind if making a post about them or calling someone:

Number of cows
Color of ear tags
Nearest mile marker if on road
Brand if visible
Distinguishing features of the cattle if any

Well folks we are sold out of ground beef for now. Thank you to everyone that has supported our efforts to make local beef available. With interesting developments in the imports of questionable meat we don’t want anybody to not have access to delicious local meat that is raised and processed here. Our neighbors have tasty beef available and when our own freezers are running low this is who we turn to to get through til the next harvest.

Our friends and neighbors have steak! Folks have asked us about steak and roasts and since we are sticking to ground beef for now we wanted to share a good source! A certain family member who shall not be named bought box 3.

Takes rain to grow grass and we are grateful but it is a well known fact part of the reason it rained is the guys cut hay…

Some of the unsung heros of a cattle drive....the dogs
Were blessed with some of the best. Shamus, Rhys, and Fletcher have come to the rescue more than once when the brush is too thick for horse or man. Or when that cow is going just a bit too fast for us to turn before they hit the swamp. We send in the affectionately called Cow Boys
Then at a watering hole youll hear the nifty command 'go take a bath' and they'll find the nearest water source and do just that

Its turnout season!
Today's weather is the kind every rancher and cowboy prays for. Sunny and cool, dust knocked down by a rainstorm a few days prior, and even a few drops of rain on top of us. The cows moved well, our horses cooperated, and now the girls are content in belly deep grass. They'll stay here for a while until its time to move them to the next portion of range, here's hoping we get similar weather for that drive

Huge thank you to the crew that came out to help today. Things didnt go quite to plan, but regardless we got it done. Thankful for good people, good horses, and sunny skies
