Wow, still beaming, and with tears in my eyes, from this past weekend's Pride parade. Our small town really showed up, the vibe was high, the cheers were loud, and the love was palpable.
I've talked to so many people since and there's a common thread of how far we've come, and how far we still have to go. And how something like this was just so out of the realm of possibility back when we were kids. And how heartbreaking it is to think of all the kids growing up who had to struggle alone, hide who they were, or feel like there were no options for them to exist and be loved as they were. We've lost so many beautiful humans to hate, let's all commit to doing all that we can to accept and love all our precious human family.
So much gratitude to all the incredible, dedicated people who brought into existence. So many hours of work and organization and collaboration and logistics, it's honestly hard to fathom the amount of love so many of our local heroes put into this day! Thank you! And to for putting together the ultimate farmer float, including growing and donating hundreds of pansies to give out to the crowd! I don't have a video of Ken driving doughnuts in his tractor down Broad Street, but it was epic 🤩. And so grateful for Jeremy for encouraging and facilitating our families participating, and also for always being down to dance with me 😘 🦄✨
Let me know how to tag you if you're in these pics or videos, I don't know everyone I captured!
