As a Vessel Mechanic for Blue Harvest Fisheries, you duties will include repair of diesel engines and drive systems including generators and auxiliary engines. This may include overhauls, repairs, alignments and installations. You will work on various shipboard systems including hydraulic, electrical (AC and DC), HVAC, piping and plumbing. You must be able to troubleshoot and have a basic understanding of these systems. In addition you may address problems involving vessel steering mechanisms or propellers. The majority of the duties will be performed dockside, but may require travel to local dry docks repair facilities if necessary.

The successful candidate should possess 3-5 years’ experience in repairing diesel engines and other mechanic functions on marine vessels, strong attention to detail, work safely and carefully to prevent injuries and equipment damage; good analytical and problem solving skills; manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination and be self-directed. Good attendance and overtime is required.
