🔥 FROM ASHES TO LEGACY… AND FOR ONE DAY ONLY, TO YOUR GLASS & PLATE. 🔥

Tomorrow, we’re doing something a little different at The Old Pinnix.

In celebration of New Bern’s historic Six Sisters, we’ve created a ONE-DAY-ONLY menu inspired by the colors, history, and incredible story behind these six homes on Pasteur Street.

🏠 Three specialty toasts.
🍸 Four specialty drinks.
🎨 The colors of each Sister represented throughout the menu.
🔥 And one very special cocktail inspired by the event that started their story — the Great Fire of 1922.

And when we say this one may steal the show, we mean it. 👀🔥

The Six Sisters rose in the aftermath of one of the most devastating events in New Bern’s history. Built around 1923–24 after the Great Fire left thousands without homes, these nearly identical houses became part of a neighborhood rebuilding itself — and more than a century later, they’re still standing.

Tomorrow, we’re raising a glass to that resilience.

Join the New Bern Preservation Foundation, Art House Art Studio & The Old Pinnix for Art as Preservation: Paint the 6 Sisters in Plein Air from 4–6 PM at 855 Pasteur Street, then make your way to The Old Pinnix to taste our Six Sisters menu.

You only get ONE DAY to try it.

Because just like the fire that started this chapter of New Bern history…

🔥 when it’s gone, it’s gone up in smoke. 🔥

Come for the history. Stay for the toast. Order the drink everyone is going to be talking about, because we can’t post all our secrets here!😉

✨ A Fresh New Look at The Old Pinnix! ✨

Our beautiful new floor behind the bar has officially been installed, and we’re excited to welcome everyone back!

We’ll be opening at our normal time today, but we’re still putting the finishing touches on everything. While our remaining equipment is being reinstalled over the next few days, our drink service may look a little different than usual.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as our team gets everything back in place. We appreciate your grace as we work through the final details.

A huge thank you to the incredible crew at Spectrum Custom Builders for their hard work and for getting us back up and running so quickly. We truly appreciate everything you did to help us get our doors open again!

Thank you all for your continued support—we can’t wait to see you today and show off our beautiful new floors behind the bar! ❤️

All wrapped up with the new sub-floor. Tomorrow we’re putting in the new waterproof flooring, getting the final plumbing done and do a deep clean.

Right now we’re shooting for Thursday morning reopening. Wish us luck…

Hey everyone we figured many of you are wondering what’s going on and sad that your favorite hangout spot is closed so we wanted to provide an update.

We had a leak behind the bar and discovered soft spots. In a rather emergency mode we had to start cutting out floors so that we can get everything properly restored.

Work is continuing and shout out to our contractor Spectrum Custom Builders, not only are they doing fantastic work but they’ve also been extremely flexible from coming out Sunday to throwing everything at it to get us back up and running as fast as possible.

Stay tuned for more updates…
