✨ IN A CRAZY TURN OF EVENTS, WE’VE BEEN NOMINATED FOR BEST BAKERY!!🥹

Seriously, what an incredible honor. We are beyond grateful that someone thought of us & took the time to nominate The Daily Dough🤍

While we would absolutely LOVE to win (because who doesn’t?!) we have a little favor to ask.

PLEASE VOTE FOR OUR BESTEST FRIENDS AT Carolina's Cupcakes!

They’re still holding down their brick & mortar & pouring so much love into our community. If you’re voting, make sure you vote for Carolina’s Cupcakes for BOTH Best Bakery AND Best Desserts!

While you’re there, please give some love to our good friends at Brew H2ouse for Best Coffee Shop! They’re my go-to spot most mornings because let’s be real, bakery work starts SO early & this girl runs on caffeine😜

Don’t forget to vote for Baker's Kitchen for Best Breakfast! They have shown me so much love & hospitality since I joined the team, & I’m forever grateful to be a part of something so amazing. Bakers Kitchen is such a special place, & the people there make it even more wonderful. My amazing team in the bakery is there every day making the soft biscuits, delicious muffins, mouthwatering desserts, & our famous cinnamon rolls. They truly deserve all the love & support!

We are SO incredibly lucky to have these amazing small businesses in our community. Supporting each other, cheering each other on, & celebrating each other is what it’s all about.

So yes, vote for us if you’d like BUT PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE show some extra love to Carolina’s Cupcakes, Brew H2ouse, & Baker’s Kitchen!

Our community is better because of businesses like these🤍

A few weeks ago, I started a new chapter at Baker’s Kitchen & now that I’ve had some time to get settled, I wanted to officially share the news!

It’s been an incredible experience already. If you’ve stopped by recently, you’ve probably seen that I’ve been filling the bakery case with many of my own sweet treats. Watching customers enjoy recipes I’ve poured my heart into has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead such a talented bakery team while continuing to do what I love every day. This role has already challenged me, inspired me, & reminded me why I fell in love with baking in the first place.

To everyone who has supported me throughout my journey, from The Daily Dough to this new adventure, thank you. Your encouragement, kind words, & loyalty have meant more than I can express🤍

If you haven’t made it to Baker’s Kitchen yet, I’d love for you to stop by & treat yourself to something sweet. I’ve been busy behind the scenes filling the case with my treats, & it makes me so happy knowing they’re being enjoyed by our community🫶🏻

It’s been such a wonderful month off & I’m incredibly grateful for the extra time I got to spend with my family. It was exactly what I needed🤍

But, I’m more than ready to get back into a commercial kitchen!

I’m so excited to share that I start my newest baking adventure as a Bakery Manager on Monday, & I absolutely cannot wait to get back to doing what I love!

Now it’s your turn, can you guess where I’ll be baking next?

Hint: I’ll be in New Bern!🐻

Drop your guesses in the comments!

(Shoutout to Styled By Michelle Hinson for my amazing summer hair cut & color!)

Keeping the gratitude momentum going!🤍

If you know Liz from Brew H2ouse, then you already know how incredible she is, both as a business owner & as a person. If you haven’t been to Brew H2ouse yet, you’re seriously missing out! From the drinks to the atmosphere to the fabulous energy, she’s built something really special that the James City community is so lucky to have & no chain could duplicate.

The day I opened The Daily Dough, customer after customer walked through my doors with a Brew H2ouse cup in hand, telling me that Liz had sent them my way. That kind of support meant the world to a brand new small business owner trying to find her footing.

Over the years, Liz has become so much more than a fellow business owner. She’s become a true friend. She’s listened to me vent when things weren’t going right, celebrated with me when they were, & somehow always managed to be on board with my endless stream of crazy ideas🤪

Owning a small business can be tough, & having people like Liz in your corner makes all the difference. It definitely did for me!

We stopped by yesterday while running errands, & my girls haven’t stopped talking about how good their drinks & snacks were! If you haven’t made your way to Brew H2ouse yet, you’re missing out. It’s one of my favorite spots in James City, & there’s a reason so many people love it.

Thank you, Liz, for supporting me from day one & for being such an amazing friend along the way. Your kindness, encouragement, & willingness to lift up other small businesses have made a bigger impact than you realize🤍
