Purple Goat Ranch The Purple Goat Ranch became official in 2017 with our first rescue goat Knuck Knuck. Bryan and I both grew up loving land and animals. And here we are.

Purple Goat Ranch serves two purposes: 1) we are registered Texas Longhorn breeders; and 2) we are a sanctuary for senior, blind or other rescue horses and livestock. Rejected by his momma, he was a bottle baby with a variety of disabilities who stole our heart. Coupled with many requests of “Grammy, will you get me a horse” we decided it was time to find property. We want our grandkids to grow up

knowing the country life, animals and all. In 2021, we found the perfect property to meet all our dreams. Incorporated as an LLC in 2021, the Purple Goat Ranch’s principal business is breeding registered Texas Longhorns. We started with two momma’s and their two babies and have grown our herd. Our DBA, Double C Longhorns, would not be complete without our horses, donkeys, goats, llama, dogs, cats and of course, our family. Rescue is our favorite breed. Why the name Purple Goat Ranch when we breed Longhorns? Because of Knuck Knuck. At our old house Bryan and I would sit on the back porch dreaming about land, longhorns, donkeys, and did I say land? Knuck Knuck would always join us on the back porch with his head rested on your feet. One night, as I stood up from my rocking chair, my glass of red wine spilled all over our white Knuck Knuck. Needless to say Knuck Knuck was purple for weeks. That is how the name was born. We set up this page to share the joy we get every day. We are “Living the Dream Y’all”.

Addition: . Bryan shared the story with this picture. He was in the barn and heard several of donkeys braying. This typically means something is going on and he ran to check. He found them staring at Oliver. Donkeys not only keep predators away, they take care of all members of the ranch.
