The drink that had me questioning whether I accidentally crossed into Puerto Rico!🇵🇷☕

Borinquen Bakery is serving a flan latte with caramel on the bottom and a flan cold foam on top, and honestly? It might be one of the most unique coffee drinks I’ve found in Connecticut!

But don’t stop at the coffee.👀👀

Grab some pastelitos, browse the cakes, check out the limbed, sandwiches, fresh bread, and yes… even the rotisserie chickens!

This is the kind of place where you come for one thing and leave with a bag full of things you didn’t plan on buying😂

If Barbie opened a birria truck, I imagine it would look a lot like this. 💅🌮

Marla’s Mix Kitchen is serving tender, juicy birria, cheesy tacos, crispy birria egg rolls, and a consommé that’s worth every drop.

The pink truck caught my attention, but the food is what will have me coming back. The tacos were loaded, the egg rolls were packed with flavor, and now I already have my eye on the birria quesadilla and birria ramen.

I finally experienced Connecticut’s first head spa, and now I understand why people keep talking about it!

My appointment started with Krystal putting my scalp under a microscope so she could assess my scalp health and customize my treatment.

From there, she walked me through every step, explaining what she was seeing, what it meant, and how each service would benefit my scalp.

My service included scalp exfoliation, aromatherapy, massage, deep conditioning, the scratch scalp therapy (which started with a side eye and felt absolutely amazing), and the AuraLuxe Clean & Polish Facial.

What impressed me most wasn’t just how relaxing it was. It was the level of education, attention to detail, and care that went into the experience. I left understanding my scalp better than I ever have before!

Between the knowledge I gained and the quality of service I received, I genuinely feel this experience was worth every dollar spent✨

We tried She’s Consistent, Lost in Mayagüez, the Iced Agave Sea Salt, carrot cake, and a few pastries—and honestly, I already want to go back!

A quick heads up before you go: everything is made fresh to order!

If you’re planning a trip to for the #1 spot for Puerto Rican Chinese Fusion, get there early and expect a wait—especially while shes’s still building out her team.

And after trying the wings, fried rice, spare ribs, mofongo, beef & crab alcapurria with Tuki Verde sauce, chicken and pork pinchos, and fresh juices, I can see why people keep showing up!

What stood out most to me was that nothing felt heavy, greasy, or overly salty like one might expect Chinese food to be. Just fresh food, generous portions, and flavors that speak for themselves.

Tuki is humble, hustlin and holdin it down. So give her the respect she deserves.🤏🏽

I came for Jamaican-American fusion and left with a new obsession!

Cocktail patties 6 for $6 and they’re SPICY spicy
10/10

Jerk chicken $14.99 char + spice = 8.5/10

Oxtail $18.99 tenderism was TENDERING... I might
need a likkle less browning but still 8.5/10

Rum cake $5.30 I don’t care if you “don’t like rum
cake”… this one is a 10/10

Also... there’s an actual chef back there!

And when I heard “we no have dat”... I knew I was safe

is serving a Sunrise Plantain Burger with FRIED plantains as the bun, an in-house MADE vegan patty, jerk marinade, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and seasoned fries with their homemade Tre Bae Sweet Heat Sauce 🍔🍟

Nothing about this tastes mass produced✅

You can tell they actually care about flavor here!

And if the burger hits this hard? I already know everything else is next on my list 👀

Puerto Rican Chinese fusion might actually be one of Hartford’s biggest cheat codes right now 😮‍💨🔥

The mofongo was packed with garlic flavor, the boneless spare ribs had that sweet char siu glaze done RIGHT, and can we PLEASE talk about the shrimp?

Finally somebody using real sized shrimp in the lo mein 😭🍤

Bonus points because everything came out hot hot and they also have a wide range of bevs on deck too!
