Round 2 of synchronized breeding has begun. We have 2 fullblood Boers and one TexasGenemaster in with our new junior herdsire. We also dropped off a couple of crossbreds for live coverage wether genetics. Fingers crossed.

We are blessed to have great 4H and FFA families to share experiences with. We get to enjoy great times with great quality people, watch seniors graduate, and watch young ones get started. Fair was winding down and we were all talking about next year and when the babies were due so they could all come and see.

We very much enjoy working with the 4H and FFA families that we supply project animals to. Today was showmanship and market production. Here are some highlights.

We use a harness on the buck that holds a big crayon so that we can tell who has been "covered" and when. This helps us manage and plan for the upcoming kidding season. It always reminds me of "The Scarlet Letter" (Nathaniel Hawthorne).

Breeding season has begun! I have been practicing with trans-cervical AI and the only thing better than learning something new is to learn with someone. I was thrilled when one of my students asked if he could try. We have bucks in with does and does off with bucks at other places. Christmas break is for kids!
