We appreciate our customers so very much. We received a message from a lady who lives out of state. She had a taste of our delicious honey during a Christmas visit with a relative. She was inquiring to see if we could ship her an order. Unfortunately, due to state law, we do not ship honey, as of yet. She was bummed, but looks forward to a summer visit, and will make arrangements to purchase some while in town. WOW! Our honey is being talked about across stateline!!! 🐝

Early Spring. As outdoor temperatures rise and spring flowers bloom, bees will begin foraging for nectar and pollen. Typically, bees forage when outside temperatures are above 16°C/61°F and it is not raining. Early spring can be a perilous time of year for the honey bee colony.

We had a honey customer ask us to give photos of the bees. I don't know why we never thought to upload some of those photos on here, so here we go.

We started our honey extraction yesterday. It was a late start in the day, but we got over 60 frames capped off, and spun in the machine.

Some people aren't aware that different types of flower nectar changes the look of the honey. The two frames below show a color difference. The light frames are mostly from spring flowers, while the darker frames are mostly from the goldenrod surrounding our home.

We blend the two colors together to offer a familiar, beautiful, amber color honey. 🍯
