This picture was taken just a few weeks ago with my cousin, James “Jake” Hill. Jake worked at the facility where my mom lives, and every time I came to visit her, I knew I’d get to spend a few minutes talking and laughing with him. He was a genuinely kind, caring person who always looked out for others, including my mom.

Over the last couple of months, we made several plans to go out together. Something always came up—a birthday, an injury, a scheduling conflict—and we’d laugh and say, “We’ll make it happen next time.” Unfortunately, next time never came.

Jake passed away last night.

His passing is a reminder that tomorrow isn’t promised. If there’s someone you’ve been meaning to call, visit, have dinner with, or simply spend time with, don’t keep putting it off. Make the call. Send the text. Set the date. Life can change in an instant.

Rest easy, Jake. You will be missed more than you know. ❤️

Some people might not agree with giving yourself an A+…

But when it comes to cupcakes, cooking classes, smiles, and changing lives in the kitchen, I’m gonna go ahead and grade myself the same way. 😂🧁

From detention centers to community centers, schools, colleges, and special events, we’re teaching skills, building confidence, and serving up some amazing treats along the way.

But these cupcakes? A+.
These cooking classes? A+.
These smiles? A+.

What a fun day with our 1st and 2nd grade chefs at Bayard School in Wilmington, Delaware! 🍫🪱 Today we made Mud Pie Cups, and the students had a blast layering chocolate pudding, cookie crumbs, and gummy worms while learning kitchen skills, teamwork, and creativity. The smiles say it all! Watching these young chefs build confidence and create something they’re proud of is what makes these classes so special.

Sunrise Toast was a hit with our 1st and 2nd graders at Bayard Elementary! ☀️🍓🫐 The students toasted their bread, spread cream cheese and jelly, then got creative with strawberries, blueberries, and mandarin oranges to design their own masterpiece. Watching the kids smile, create, and try new foods is what it’s all about. Confidence • Connection • Calm ❤️
