Happy Wednesday friends! We just wanted to hop on and show you something cool- remember how we said the unripe berries will ripen on your counter? We took pictures to prove it! If you pick a berry and notice a green spot, just give it a few days and it will ripen to perfection! Come visit us Thursday June 25 from 12:00-5:00 pm or Saturday June 27 from 1:00-6:00 pm and try it for yourself🫐💙

Hi friends! Did you miss us yesterday?? We have been working nonstop since Friday morning to get things ready for you! We are excited to announce that we will have picking days this week beginning TOMORROW! Check our Facebook each Sunday for that week's picking dates and times or call/text 724-730-0147.

If you are still reading this and really missed our fun facts yesterday, here’s a quick fix for you! If you pick a berry that isn’t totally ripe, don’t toss it! Stick it on the counter and it will ripen to perfection. You don’t need to wash our berries and the white haze is the berry’s natural protection. If you feel better washing them, be sure to let them dry completely before storing in the fridge for maximum longevity. We have been eating the berries straight from the bush and we wouldn’t sell you anything that we won’t eat ourselves.

We cannot wait to meet you!! 💙

Happy Friday friends! We are one step closer to picking berries and we wanted to tell you all about it! Last weekend we covered the main field with the giant net and just in the nick of time because the berries are starting to turn blue! We had to lay the net out in our neighbor’s yard (ours wasn’t big enough and we have a pretty big yard!), cut it to size, reconnect the cut pieces, roll it back up and walk it to our field. We hoisted it up and rolled it out over the cabling that we ran between the poles to cover the entire field. The net keeps the birds and deer away and hopefully our other friend has moved on and found a new home 🐻. We had to order a new net for the top field so thankfully those berries ripen a little later which buys us some time.

We are blessed with the absolute best family and friends that step in to help us make this crazy dream a reality. There aren’t enough free blueberries in the patch to show our gratitude and we aren’t sure why you keep showing up but we love you for it😆🫐💙

Enjoy your weekend- we estimate that we will have picking dates for you very soon!!

Opening weekend is fast approaching!

Funny Friday! Why did the blueberry pie cross the street? It saw a fork in the road!

Here's another reason to smile- picking season is almost here! We anticipate the berries to be ready within the next 2-3 weeks. We know that you love checking in with us on Fridays but Sunday is going to be the day to remember throughout picking season. On Sunday, we will post the picking dates and times for the upcoming week right here on our Facebook. As we have mentioned, our kids play sports and Western Pennsylvania weather can be unpredictable so we'd like to establish a game plan for the week so you can plan ahead to visit us!

Being that this is our first season, we will try out this method and adjust if needed. You can also call or text us at 724-730-0147. If you are physically unable to pick berries or you just don't have time during our picking hours, don't worry! Just call/text and order your desired amount and we will pick them for you and bring them right to your car. We are still learning and doing everything in our power to make our inaugural season a success and we truly appreciate your patience and your willingness to work with us. We cannot wait to meet you! Enjoy your weekend friends! 💙🫐

Happy Friday friends! Our farm update for today is simple- we have berries! Lots and lots of berries. The late freeze did hit us a little harder than we originally thought and you will see the damaged ends on some of the plants but we are so fortunate to have the amount of berries that we currently do, especially after digging up and moving these bushes just 3 months ago!

This weekend we will start setting the posts for the net (thankful for multiple dry days in a row that allowed us to actually get into the field to work!). The net will need to go up in the near future to protect the berries from birds and deer so you can actually have some to pick- they won’t share otherwise 😆.

Thanks for following along. We are getting closer and closer to picking season and we can’t wait to meet you! Have a great weekend ☀️🫐💙

Fun fact Friday! When you pick blueberries with us, we will charge by the pound. Did you know that there are approximately 200 blueberries in a pound? You can pick as many or as few as you’d like. We will provide the buckets.. all you have to do is come ready to pick. One of our favorite fun facts is that some of the picking buckets that we purchased from the former farm still say TRADER HORN! We jokingly say that was the main reason why we knew this was meant to be!

If you are unable to walk through the field and pick or if you’re short on time, you’ll also be able to give us a call and one of our expert pickers (our kids😆) will pick your order and deliver it right to your car. Enjoy your weekend and pray for warm weather- the blueberries definitely prefer it!! 💙🫐

Fun fact Friday! Would you believe that more than one billion pounds of blueberries are produced in North America annually? That is equal to the weight of 2 large cruise ships or 12,500 fully loaded semi trucks or more than 2,000 Statues of Liberty.

Our bushes should produce around 9,500 pounds of blueberries in a season, which would fill our entire bathtub nearly 24 times! Blueberries like warm days and cool nights so we are hopeful that this weather helps to generate a prosperous crop even after the stress of this winter's transplant process. Even if we don't have the full crop in our first season that the bushes have produced in years past, we are still incredibly excited to share our bounty with you! Enjoy the warm weekend (finally)! 💙🫐

It's Friday- time for a farm update. We currently have a large pile of wood chips in our yard that we are using to cover the rows to prevent w**ds. We are using a convenient tractor attachment that shoots the chips out but it is still a time consuming process. However, we can confidently say that there are no w**d killers being used on our blueberries!

We also thought that this might be a good time to give a little shout out to some of the local businesses that have played a small part in our farming venture. The wood chips came from Marshall Tree Experts, our t-shirts came from Venezie Sporting Goods & Custom Apparel (we just did a fresh restock- let us know if you need a shirt! 😉), our signage is from The One Designer, LLC, and the sign frame and planter box was built by our good friend Micheal Galbreath (if you can dream it, he can build it and we will sell his wooden crafts at the farm too).

Our mailing address is New Castle, PA but we are located in Wayne Township which is right outside of Ellwood City. If you are unfamiliar with the Ellwood City area, we HIGHLY encourage you to check it out when you come to pick blueberries with us. Ellwood has some of the coolest small businesses, the absolute best restaurants (ask us for recommendations- this post would be 6 pages long if we listed them all!), great ice cream shops, and so much more. We are proud to be a small part of the commerce in our corner of Lawrence County and we encourage you to shop local! Enjoy your weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! 🫐💙
