Today: planting dahlia tubers.

Tomorrow: more dahlia tubers.

A few months from now: armloads of flowers. 🌸

The magic of flower farming is learning to trust the process—and the weird potato.

The sun finally made an appearance this afternoon, and with it came one of my favorite moments of the season — harvesting our first round of spring flowers. 🌸☀️

These first harvests are always special. A little reminder that brighter days, longer evenings, and a season full of flowers are finally here.

Who's ready for flower season? 💐

☀️ 100% chance of mischief with a slight possibility of zoomies. 🐐💛

This sweet girl is one of our keeper doelings from this year’s kids and we’re pretty obsessed with her already. Just look at that face. 🥹

Dahlia planting season is here 🌸🌱

Did you grab dahlia tubers from our plant sale or at the market this past weekend? Now is the perfect time to get them planted!

A few quick tips for planting dahlias successfully:

✨ Plant after the danger of frost has passed
✨ Choose a sunny location — dahlias love at least 6+ hours of sun
✨ Plant tubers about 4–6 inches deep with the “eye” facing upward
✨ Well-draining soil is key to preventing rot
✨ Wait to water heavily until you see sprouts emerge

As your plants grow, pinching the center stem after a few sets of leaves will encourage bushier plants and more blooms later in the season 💐

And don’t forget — tall varieties benefit from support early on. It’s much easier to stake them before they turn into giant flower monsters later this summer 😂

Most importantly: trust the weird potato 🥔🌸
It may not look like much right now, but in a few months it’ll be covered in some of the most beautiful blooms of the season.

We still have dahlia tubers available and will be bringing more to this week’s market while supplies last!

Who else is excited for dahlia season?

This rainy Memorial Day has us slowing down a little on the farm and reflecting with gratitude. 🇺🇸🌧️

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is never forgotten.

While the rain falls on our fields and gardens today, we’re spending the day thankful for the freedoms we enjoy and the community that supports small farms like ours every season.

Wishing you a peaceful Memorial Day filled with remembrance, gratitude, and a little quiet time with the ones you love. ❤️🤍💙

A little later than we planned, but the farm stand is OPEN today 💐

This dreary, rainy weather feels like the perfect excuse to brighten your day with fresh flowers 🌷 We’ve got the very last of our tulips for the season available at the stand today — once they’re gone, that’s it until next spring!

Stop by, grab a bouquet, and bring a little color home on this gray day ☔
