This weekend was a reminder of what makes this community so special.
As part of the Historic New Glarus Hotel Restaurant restoration, we had the opportunity to share a small collection of historic pieces from the hotel with the community.
Only a limited number of pieces were offered because the Hotel is intentionally preserving much of the history for its next chapter. Many original pieces, architectural elements, furnishings, and artifacts are being carefully saved and incorporated into the reopening of the Historic New Glarus Hotel so guests can continue to experience its story for generations to come.
What made the weekend so memorable wasn't the items themselves. It was the people.
Watching community members walk through the building, share memories, tell stories, and connect over a place that has meant so much to New Glarus was incredibly moving.
The excitement, encouragement, and support we experienced throughout the weekend reinforced just how important this project is to our community.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who stopped by, shared a memory, offered support, or took home a small piece of the hotel's history.
The Historic New Glarus Hotel has been part of this community's story for more than 170 years. We are honored to help preserve that legacy while preparing it for the future.
