CARRIE'S LAW | SEPTEMBER 19 2026

After spending the last 3 months, across hundreds of hours researching & networking, I found it necessary to publish a second letter. It details a phased plan to responsibly & thoughtfully implement Comprehensive Electronic Safety Protections to prevent lethal escalation in domestic violence cases.

The system is complicated.

It's interwoven.

The reality is maddening once you peel back the layers.

There's critical human infrastructure at imminent risk due to potential loss of funding.

I encourage you to read all 3 pages slowly, sit with it & try to digest the weight.

I've also been networking on a national level.

Through a serendipitous connection in Florida, I was put in touch with Denise Brown, sister of the late Nicole Brown Simpson.

Denise has dedicated the past three decades to domestic violence advocacy & legislative reform, & she recently authored the book, "For My Sister Nicole, Love Shouldn't Hurt".

WHAT'S NEXT?

Sophie & I will be launching a grassroots phone & email campaign.

We'll be publishing a call script, an email template & step-by-step instructions on how to effectively contact your state Senators and Representatives.

We're meeting with our Core Team soon to determine strategic timing ensuring this campaign has the maximum possible impact.

Soon, I'll also be creating an infographic in plain language to educate on what exactly I'm asking be studied in Phase I.

CARRIE'S LAW | AUGUST 29 2026

Thank you all for reaching out with questions & ideas to help the Carrie's Law cause - I am grateful for each & every one - keep them coming. I also read every comment on shared versions of my posts, which is helping me identify trends.

It's become clear over the past 2 months, there's confusion around whether or not GPS tracking currently exists as an option in Domestic Violence cases today. The short answer is: it does. However, it's only been available statewide including the Litchfield Judicial district since October 2025.

I've created this simple infographic to educate folks on the current state of the GPS program. As I identify additional data & procedural documentation from confirmed State of CT sources, I'll create more in easy to digest increments.

Because, one must first have a comprehensive, data-driven understanding of the current state before advocating for and implementing systemic change.

Thank you all so much for listening & for your continued interest & support. ❤

CARRIE'S LAW | AUGUST 25 2026

Two women have been killed in domestic violence stabbings in Connecticut within the last two weeks:

August 12, 2026: Tisha Marinoccio, 42, was murdered at her apartment building in New Haven. Tisha was found with a stab wound to her left side. Her attacker was her ex-boyfriend.
Charges Filed: C.G.S. § 53a-54a(a): Murder | C.G.S. § 53a-155: Tampering with Physical Evidence.

August 22, 2026: An adult female victim, whose identity has not yet been publicly released, was fatally stabbed at a condominium complex in Rocky Hill.
Charges Filed: C.G.S. § 53a-54a(a): Murder | C.G.S. § 53a-223a: Violation of a Standing Criminal Protective Order.

I know this information is heavy. Believe me, I live it every day, studying individual cases, metrics, compiling data, analyzing trends. I can no longer look away & my hope is you will find the strength to stand with me as I carry this through.

Carrie’s Law is desperately needed & Connecticut has a profound opportunity to once again lead the nation in domestic violence reform.

Yet, even in this work, I truly believe the good & beauty in this world outweighs the darkness. To be reminded of that, all I have to do is walk through our flower field, where I am completely surrounded by life & love. I have never seen as many butterflies as I have this summer.

More soon.

Every evening, just before the sun sets, a quiet magic settles over the flower farm.

My most cherished ritual before bidding goodnight to the blooms, is to visit the secret kingdom of the Milkweed patch, searching for Monarch chrysalises.

Yesterday, perched beneath the canopy of a giant, hanging velvet seed pod sat a tiny gentleman of the meadow.

He was ever so gently tucking in his delicate hands underneath his chin.

The whole world grew perfectly still, and for a few enchanted moments, we shared a soft, whispered conversation about everything & nothing, before wishing each other a sweet goodnight. ❤

CARRIE'S LAW | AUGUST 7 2026

Yesterday, our core team met with Senator Winfield of New Haven, Co-Chair of the Judiciary Committee. Often referred to as the gatekeeper of criminal & civil justice legislation, he plays a highly influential role shaping CT law. I met 1x1 with him mid-June & this is the meeting I've been waiting for.

The biggest messages I can confidently share today, just under 8 weeks since I published my letter, are:

- We have bipartisan support.
- No lawmaker has said no.

Over the past 3 weeks, I've been peeling back the layers of our domestic violence systems here in CT (& across the US, but that's for another post).

I've submitted a formal request for data: some numbers, some financial, some procedural. I know from my prior career in Corporate America, one must first have a comprehensive, data-driven understanding of the current state before advocating for systemic change.

Special thanks to Senator Paul Honig & Representative Jay Case for all of our weekly phone calls, text & email updates. There's a lot of good discovery work going on & some amazing leaders are involved helping our cause.

Last week, I had the privilege of meeting with the Executive Leadership of both the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) & the Susan B Anthony Project (SBAP).

I prepared a 25 page presentation & we met for 1.5 hours. We covered a range of topics including the current state of CT's GPS program, their top legislative priorities & how the Family Violence Victim Advocate (FVVA) role is critical to the court process.

Having a seat at that table was another milestone met. I left the meeting feeling valued, heard & educated, with an even stronger sense of purpose. My partnership with these leaders will be ongoing to propel meaningful changes & help future victims.

AN IMPORTANT PERSONAL POST FROM THE OWNER OF LINDELL FLOWER FARM
*****************************
My beloved friend Carrie Ann Crossfield Stetson's life was brutally taken on June 8th 2026, in an act of domestic violence - exactly 54 days after her abuser's initial arrest.

In the days that followed alone in my office, I discovered Connecticut law leaves victims in danger because courts rarely grant GPS tracking until AFTER an abuser has already violated a paper protection order & committed a SECONDARY crime. I penned a 5 page letter to our lawmakers - I barely remember writing it. I only know I was compelled to accomplish this feat before a week marked Carrie's passing.

Soon after, Carrie's niece Sophie Crossfield contacted me as she wrote a letter too, strikingly parallel to mine, illustrating a similar legal conclusion. We immediately joined forces & our letters are now a single paired unit acting as a catalyst to change the domestic violence law in Connecticut - for all of our daughters, nieces, sisters, mothers & any human who has ever been or will be victim to such unimaginable evil.

Driven by love & justice, this work is championed alongside Sophie, to honor Carrie's story, change the law, and prevent future tragedies.
