Hey Guru Fans. It's been more than a minute since we've gotten a review out but we've got some great stuff for you this weekend. The Pizza Gurus made a trip to the New Haven, CT area and visited some of the standards and a couple places we're not sure are getting enough love. Friday night we checked out Fuoco Apizza in Chesire and sampled a delicious coal fired option. Saturday we put some miles on and got our pizza fill at Zuppardi's Apizza , Modern Apizza, BAR - New Haven, drinks at ARMADA BREWING and ice cream at Arethusa Farm Dairy and Cafe. Finished up strong on Sunday with a stop at Sally's Apizza. It was a well rounded weekend and now so are we. We hope you enjoy the pics.

Today some of the gurus met up in Wayne, NJ to try out Wayne Ale House’s 24”slice and their 24” pie. Neither one disappoints. First off, let’s start with the jumbo slice. For something so large, it was well cooked and crispy. For $20 it is worth getting, not just for the flavor, but for the shock value. We actually encouraged the table next to us to order one! The full pie was also up to par. Crust is on point. The cheese is under the sauce and not overly cheesy. We got a half meatball, half plain and definitely liked the meatball side better. Overall a 7.9 for the pizza. The bar itself is a great place to watch sports. There are tons of TVs and some 80s music videos. If Sammi is bartending let her know that the gurus sent you there!

Good Evening, Gurus!
Today we find ourselves in Saratoga, NY. We have heard many good things about this place and we simply had to give it a try. Now to the pizza…we are going to give very good marks to the flavor as all of the ingredients were very fresh. Prices and sizes of pies were worth it. Our only concern was the flop/crunch on the plain crust. One side was perfectly crispy and satisfying but it seemed like it needed to be rotated in the oven to get that even on the whole pie. Overall we give it a 7.9. Better than most in upstate NY, but there is always room for improvement. Great job, Caputo’s Pizzeria!

Good evening, Gurus! Today we bring you to Casa D Pizza in Denville, NJ. They offer a great pie with an excellent crispy crust. The sauce has good flavor, not too sweet. Could have been cheesier but it still lands at an 8.3. Been here a few times and the quality is consistent. Locals love this place. If you find yourself in or near Denville, NI, don’t hesitate to pop in.
