Our truck was indeed found on the side of Lincoln Rd near Bartlett Falls. Looks like karma caught up with them and they got it stuck in the gravel lot there and couldn’t figure out the 4 wheel drive. We are having it towed home (they kept the keys) today. The outpouring of information has restored my faith in the safety and community of our little town! That being said - this was not an isolated incident. We’ve heard from a few others of successful or attempted car thefts lately. The police want to look for prints (good luck, it’s a grimy old farm truck!) to try to learn more.
Keep doing your small town thing, friends! Look out for each other, make note of odd things you see, and bring your keys in at night 🤪

Dear Friends and Neighbors,
I’ve always bragged about the safety of our small town of New Haven. Unfortunately, even in the coziest small towns, things happen.
At some point in the last few days, someone drove away with our farm truck. In the hustle of finishing up hay, getting things buttoned up for another storm, and a day off for a family function, we didn’t notice it wasn’t where we left it until it was too late. At this point, that somebody is probably long gone. We don’t have much hope of getting it back, and the police officer we spoke to said as much. But we wanted to share this just to make others aware - if you have been as (overly) trusting as us, you may want to tighten things up.
On the off chance that you see the truck, let us know. If you are the someone that happened to take it, we would appreciate if it was returned. Just leave it in the barnyard where you found it and we can all move on. I don’t believe you are a bad person, and I don’t believe you felt good about this choice. Desperate people do desperate things.

So grateful for one of these days today. We have been so lucky that our biggest complaint these past couple weeks is soggy fields that make it hard to make hay. So many farms and families are in the thick of it, wondering how to get back to zero. But farmers are the toughest people I know, and they will all be back, making food for our tables. Think of those farms as you go to the store and make your purchases, not just this week but every week. The local farms are your neighbors and friends, trying to not only make quality products, but also keep our state rich in agriculture. They need you to vote for their success with your dollars.

Equipment is kind of a necessary evil for farming….it’s expensive, costly to maintain/repair, and the more you have the more you need it seems like. But that doesn’t mean Zane doesn’t get a kick out finding a deal, finding just the right thing, or putting a new coat of paint on. These two were added to the fleet last year…wondering what this year will bring…🤪
