We’ll be here at the YLNI Farmers Market until 1:00 today! Taste of the Arts is also happening so it’s a fun day to be downtown!

It’s officially potato leek soup season! I’ll have a few bunches of leeks and a mountain of Yukon gold potatoes at the YLNI Farmers Market tomorrow. I’ll also have green beans, onions, swiss chard, beets, carrots, radishes, tomatoes, jalapeños, sweet snacking peppers, green cabbage, cucumbers, and fresh herbs. I’ve also been working on more preserves and I’ll have vanilla spiced pear butter, red and black raspberry jam, chocolate raspberry jam, and elderberry jelly. See you tomorrow between 9 AM and 1 PM!

It’s not raining and it’s not super crowded at the market! It’s the perfect time to shop! We’ll be here until 1:00.

I’m gonna let you in on a little life hack. When the forecast is less than ideal the market isn’t as crowded! Which means you don’t wait in line as long and you get the pick of all the best produce. With that said I’ll be back at the market tomorrow with my rain jacket and umbrella just in case Mother Nature decides we should have more rain. Stormy days are not great for gardening, but they are great for catching up on canning. I made elderberry jelly this morning, and it’s super tasty on my sourdough bread. It has a lot of lemon juice added to it so it tastes like elderberry lemonade. I just pulled more of my raspberries out of the freezer for another round of red and black raspberry jam. My last batch sold out faster than I anticipated. I also have green beans, sweet corn, chocolate raspberry jam, and carrot cake jam on my canning to do list. It’s days like today that I’m extra grateful for my espresso machine.

The Sungold cherry tomatoes are finally hitting their stride! I’ll be back at the YLNI Farmers Market tomorrow from 9 AM to 1 PM. I’ll have red and sungold cherry tomatoes, Yukon gold potatoes, onions, green cabbages, carrots, cucumbers, jalapeño peppers, green beans, beets, Swiss chard, collards, green onions, summer squash, basil, and parsley.
