Knowing what's in your food is important
Each year, EWG's (Environmental Working Group) Dirty Dozen List highlights produce with the highest pesticide contamination, and leafy greens like spinach, kale, collards, and mustard greens consistently rank at the top based on the number, amount, and toxicity of residues detected.

These are some of the most nutrient-dense foods we can eat. They are also easy crops for you to grow at home!

Being able to step outside, harvest your own greens, and know exactly how they were grown feels empowering. And homegrown tastes better.

If a garden isn't in the cards for you this season, take the time to get to know your local farmer. Ask about their field practices. Support growers who care about soil, health, and transparency.

Growing clean = eating clean!

Once in a while I get some expired bread from the grocery stores and I give it to the pigs with a little extra lettuce that I had from the garden. They have a little salad and bread and they absolutely love it
