Sometimes...you can almost smell fall in the air. It's gotten me in the mood for these delicious Dried Fruit Tarts...a little tart, sweet, and perfectly rich with dried apricots, dried plums, golden raisins, and fresh Ginger Gold apple. The sliced almonds add a little crunch, and the tender, buttery crust brings it all together. To top it all off...apricot preserves drizzled on top.
Stop by Dandridge Farmers Market tomorrow morning to pick one...or two up!

Come on down to the farmer's market! We all get our eggs straight from the feathery source!!!

The "egg" is made by synthetically printing a copy of the chicken gene for egg white protein. the gene is inserted into yeast, where it becomes a part of the yeast's DNA.
the yeast is sealed in a large steel tank called a bioreactor & fed sugar. it multiplies endlessly on its own - every new cell carries the chicken gene. Weeks later, the yeast is filtered out. what's left is dried into powder and sold as "egg white protein."
