GOATBOY SOAPS CELEBRATES 25 YEARS WITH PRICE ROLLBACK TO 2001
New Milford’s Beloved Goat’s Milk Soap Maker Honors a Quarter Century of Lather, Love, and the American Dream
NEW MILFORD, CT — June 2026 — Twenty-five years ago, a mother in New Milford, Connecticut went looking for a solution to her son’s severe food allergies and stumbled into something she never expected — a life built on goats, community, and the world’s best handmade soap.
This July, Goatboy Soaps is turning back the clock to celebrate.
From July 1st through July 15th, in honor of their 25th anniversary and America’s own 250th birthday, Goatboy Soaps will roll back their price to $4.99 per bar — exactly what a bar of Goatboy soap cost when Lisa and Rick Agee first started selling it in 2001.
“This country is turning 250 years old this year,” said Lisa Agee, founder of Goatboy Soaps. “And the thing that strikes me most is that this kind of story — starting with two goats in your backyard and building something that lasts 25 years, that becomes part of your community — can only happen in America. We want to celebrate that. And we want to say thank you to every single person who has picked up a bar of Goatboy soap over the last 25 years. You made this possible.”
From Two Goats to a Community Institution
What started as a mother’s search for natural, allergy-friendly soap became something much bigger. Lisa began researching goat’s milk soap after discovering that fresh whole goat’s milk — unlike powdered milk or preservatives found in many so-called “natural” products — produced a genuinely pure, skin-nourishing bar. When her husband Rick returned from a business trip and announced he refused to travel without bringing his own soap, they got a few dairy goats.
By 2001 they were in business. They named it Goatboy Soaps after their son’s obsession with all things goat.
Twenty-five years later Goatboy Soaps is a fixture at farmers markets and community events across Connecticut — a family-owned and operated operation producing over 30 handcrafted scents in small batches using fresh whole goat’s milk from their own herd, olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and sustainably sourced vegetable oils. The same recipe. The same commitment. The same New Milford address.
Handcrafted the Same Way Since Day One
Every bar of Goatboy Soap is still made by hand in small batches at 1 Murphy’s Way in New Milford — cold process method, natural ingredients, fresh milk from goats milked twice a day, every single day. No shortcuts. No factory. No compromise.
In a world of mass production and supply chain shortcuts, Goatboy Soaps has stayed exactly what it always was: a family, a farm, and a commitment to making something real.
