It’s officially corn season (well, the start of it)! 🌱🌽

The first planting is peeking through the dirt. From now until July, I’ll be planting new successions on a rolling schedule from now until July to make sure the farm stand is fully stocked with fresh corn all summer long. Stay tuned!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce the newest member of Odyssey Farm this season, Kyle!

Kyle joined the crew this spring and has been a massive help getting the farm ready for the warmer months. From tackling cow fencing to handling all those spring cleaning projects that never seem to end, he’s been doing it all. Today, he even gave the farm stand a fresh pressure wash to keep everything looking sharp for your next visit!

If you see Kyle working around the stand, be sure to stop and say hi! 👋

There is nothing like the first signs of green grass and warmer weather to get everything moving on the farm.🌤️This Spring is extra special because there are a few new additions to the farm.

Meet the newest members of the crew, Mater Lightning and Bam Bam! 🐮They have been enjoying these beautiful sunny days and soaking up the extra attention.

Be sure to wave hello to them when you stop at the farm stand for fresh eggs 🍳and stay tuned for updates on stocked items!

Spring has sprung and the corn seed is here! That means it’s time to start working ground for this years crops.🌱 Today I’m spreading manure on fields that will be planted with sweetcorn. In the fall they are planted with a mixture of winter rye(to help prevent erosion) and tillage radish. Which helps break up ground compaction and helps with soil organic matter as it decayes into the soil. The winter rye and manure will be tilled into the soil and corn will be planted and the cycle will continue for another year until. The ground is planted into another crop for a few years to give the ground a break from corn and boost nutrients and give it rest.

The farm stand is taking a little Winter break and will be temporarily closed while Spring prep is underway!

The stand will reopen on April 1st! We can’t wait to share the new season with you. 🌷
