Before brunch had a DJ, there was the tea dance. 💃🫖

Known in French as a thé dansant, these lively afternoon gatherings paired tea and light refreshments with music, mingling and plenty of dancing. The tradition took shape in the 19th century, and by the early 1900s, “tango teas” were all the rage as people gathered to learn the latest dance craze.
