In 1791, a young federal government—broke from the Revolutionary War—did something no American government had done before: it taxed distilled spirits. Farmers who turned surplus grain into wh***ey called it theft, and the Wh***ey Rebellion was born.

Two centuries later, the spirit endures—and so does the levy. Every pour carries a little history.

To me “The Killing Spell” is really about legacy — a young woman learning her power was in the land, the tongue, the people who came before her. 🕯️
So I made a warm one: “The Mother Tongue” in a nod to the legacy of language that ties this book together. Our 6-Year Cask Strength Bourbon, lengthened with roasted tea, sweetened with taro — the plant Hawaiian tradition calls the elder sibling — finished with orange, cinnamon, and star anise.

Our 6-Year is a backbone, not a blank base — apricot, anise, sugar cane & chamomile on the nose; cherry, apricot, almond & croissant on the palate, with a velvet finish that fades to juicy fruit.
