Ya’ll W.E.B. Dubois wrote a romance novel!!!! 📖🥃

Fair warning, it’s less steamy and more a meeting of minds and a complex, ideological map of Black consciousness that hits home for me at New Dawn Distilling. Just as the protagonist, Matthew Towns, embarks on a journey to reclaim his agency and fight against the "Global Color Line," my mission with New Dawn is about reclaiming the space in an industry that has historically marginalized Black contributions.

To pair with this romance of the ages, I’ve created "The Radical and The Royal," a "Global Soul" riff on the sour representing the marriage of Black American idealism and the warmth of global heritage.

As we approach Juneteenth and New Dawn’s 2nd anniversary, I’m reflecting on the concepts of "Generations of Excellence" and how unwavering Black excellence has influenced New Dawn. Beginning the series with the global spectacle of the World Cup now dominated by some of the most spectacular Black athletes in the world and the idea of “Greatness.”

In both professional sports and premium distilling, success requires flawless ex*****on under pressure and a foundation that recognizes greatness is not accidental, but cultivated through precision, purpose, and heritage. This June, we look to the global pitch to find parallels between the world's finest Black athletes and the mastery behind our spirits.
