Happy National Oyster Day! Time to cool off and jump into a pool of COLD oysters! Oysters are the most environmentally friendly animal in the world because according to the old literature, a single oyster can filter to clean up to 100 gallons of brackish water a day in the estuaries around the world. (I think those old scientists were talking about when oysters were harvested to would be 6"-8" hinge to bill)

So go out and celebrate National Oyster Day by eating some P&J Brand Oysters fried, stewed, or in the n**e at your favorite restaurant. Louisiana Restaurant Association

Their sons-in-laws—Frank and John Basile, Nunzio and Joe Grego, and Anthony Cristina—each ran oyster houses in different corners of New Orleans: Magazine and Girod, Poydras and Tchoupitoulas, and St. Peter and Claiborne.
