Twenty-one years ago today, Hurricane Katrina changed the New Orleans area forever, and Robért Fresh Market was no exception.
All six of our stores at the time were damaged by the storm. Just over two months later, our Metairie location reopened its doors, and in 2007, we returned to the heavily devastated Lakefront neighborhood. That reopening also marked a new chapter for Robért Fresh Market and a renewed commitment to rebuilding and serving the city we love.
Katrina is only one chapter in a story that began in 1994 and continues today. On this anniversary, we invite you to look back at the history of Robért Fresh Market, the neighborhoods we’ve called home, and the moments that have shaped who we are. 👇
We remember what was lost, how far our community has come, and the resilience of New Orleans. 💚
