Our September 22 menu is live, and it just so happens that September 22 is also the first day of fall.

Which feels like pretty perfect timing because… soup is back.

We’re easing into fall this week with Chicken & Sausage Gumbo and Sweet Potato Bisque, along with plums, Brussels sprouts, pecans, pomegranate, butternut squash and some of those flavors that make it feel like the season is starting to change.

Even if New Orleans hasn’t gotten the weather memo yet.

Here’s to the start of fall, the return of soup, and hopefully some cooler days ahead.

September 22 menu is now live!

You might have noticed things are looking a little different around here.

Over the past few months, we’ve had the chance to work with Jen Davis | Brand & Web Design | Hello June Creative® on a whole new look for Alexander’s Meals, and it has been so much fun watching them take everything we are and turn it into a brand that finally feels like us.

At the heart of our new branding is the artichoke. We wanted something that was obviously connected to food, but also meant a little more. An artichoke is all about pulling back the layers to get to the heart, and that felt pretty perfect for Alexander’s Meals. Because at the heart of all of this is really good food, made by real people, for families.

Hello June really helped us think through who we are, what makes Alexander’s Meals different and how we wanted that to come across visually. Seeing it all come together has made me realize just how much we’ve grown since we started.

And now it’s time for the next piece: a brand new website!

A little fun fact, I built our current website myself. Considering I am VERY much not a website developer, I’m actually pretty proud of what I created. I figured it out as I went, changed it about a million times, and somehow it has grown right alongside our business.

But Alexander’s Meals has grown a lot, and it finally feels like time for our website to grow up a little too.

So while I’ll always have a soft spot for the website I built from scratch, I am very ready to hand this one over to the professionals.

New branding is here. A new website is coming soon. Same food, same family and the same heart behind everything we do.

We can’t wait to show you what’s next.

Fresh, housemade gnocchi is probably not something you expect to heat up at home on a random weekday, but that’s exactly the kind of thing we love being able to put on our menu.

And this one really comes down to Chef Taylor.

Taylor worked at Lilette for over a decade, and when he told me gnocchi was probably the dish he made more than anything else while he was there, there was really no going back. I LOVE gnocchi, so obviously my first thought was that we needed to make it as much as possible.

Taylor has also officially been with us for a year now, and it’s hard to imagine Alexander’s Meals without him. So much of what we’re able to do every week is because of the experience, talent and care he brings to our kitchen. We truly couldn’t do this without him.

So thank you, Taylor, for everything you do for us and for all of you every week. And selfishly, thank you for being the reason we get to enjoy housemade gnocchi on a regular basis.

This week it’s Caprese Gnocchi: pan roasted housemade gnocchi with blistered cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, pancetta, garlic butter, Parmesan and balsamic glaze.

Not exactly your average heat-it-up-at-home weekday dinner. And that’s kind of the point.

Can we give eggplant a little more credit?

It’s full of fiber, antioxidants and nutrients, naturally low in calories, and that beautiful purple skin is actually where some of its most powerful antioxidants are found.

But our favorite thing about eggplant? It can be really, really tasty!

This week’s Eggplant Hummus is creamy hummus topped with eggplant, marinara, fresh basil, chili oil + crispy chickpeas, served with pita for scooping up every bit.

Proof that something can be packed with vegetables, good for you AND something you actually look forward to eating.

We hope everyone is enjoying their meals from yesterday’s deliveries! We hope your fridge is stocked with breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts and snacks to make the rest of the week a little easier.

Check out our stories to see our very enthusiastic delivery helper from yesterday. 😂 She waved at every single house we stopped at, whether anyone came outside or not. Even baby Alexander was along for the ride!

Good food, lots of waving and the whole family pitching in. Truly a family business around here.

Chicken salad is kind of a big DILL around here.

We make a lot of it, we eat a lot of it, and this Dill Pickle Chicken Salad might be one of my favorite versions we’ve done.

It’s loaded with dill pickles, fresh dill, celery, red onion and cracked pepper. But I also have to talk about the olive oil crackers that come with it because they are SO good.

If you love pickles and chicken salad as much as I do, you’re going to want this one.

ur own.”

Long before Alexander’s Meals was a business, this was one of those meals Alex would make for me at home that I always loved.

Housemade pita chips piled with grilled chicken, hummus, tzatziki, feta, cucumbers and tomatoes. It became one of those meals I’d ask him to make again and again because it works just as well for lunch as it does for dinner.

And now we keep bringing it back because apparently y’all love it just as much as I do. I love that something that started as a favorite of ours has become one of those meals we get to make for all of you.

This is a family meal we’ve brought back a few times because we love it so much. It’s one of those dinners that checks all the boxes: protein, veggies and a carb, but most importantly, it just tastes really good.

Garlic Parmesan Chicken Skewers served with roasted potatoes and roasted seasonal vegetables. It’s a balanced dinner you can feel good about feeding your kids and nourishing yourself with, without it feeling like you’re sacrificing anything.

No shortage of food pictures over here.
