Unfortunately I wasn't able to make the Healthway Park Farmers Market tonite. But I have FRESH 🍗🐔! We processed on Sunday so the chicken really is fresh!! I also have 🥚🥚 too!

After cleaning out our barn, I came across a ton of OLD books and magazines- many were thrown out because they weren't salvageable due to water/mildew damage. But...many were saved including this one- "Making the Farm Pay" published in 1911. On page 2 is a quote that I find so powerful...

"The Salvation of Soil Fertility is the Salvation of Our Country"

That was in 1911!! Before the Dust Bowl of the 1930's, before farmers started spraying fields with chemicals, before farming as we know it today. Fast forward to today and the quote becomes a warning for us. Experts have estimated there are 50-60 farming seasons left before there is no more topsoil. No topsoil means no plants and no plants means...well...

Where you get your food and how it's produced matters. I'm not an expert and don't want to come across as Chicken Little, but do a little research on on our food and farming industry.
