Hello Everyone,
First off we hope you all are staying safe and well, and are looking forward to seeing you when our distributions start.

With that out of the way we have some very exciting news to share! Over this winter and spring me, Gavin, Jubilee, and countless friends and family have been busy starting a new business endeavor. We are growing mushrooms!

So first question, why? They are incredible healthy for you. They are all rich in hard to obtain B vitamins that enrich our immune systems, as well as complex proteins. Some are even being tested as Alzheimer treatments, in studies compounds found in Lion's Mane mushrooms have been shown to regenerate neural pathways as well as tissue. In addition to all the healthy reasons to eat mushrooms they are, to put it simply, delicious!

What types of Mushrooms are we growing? So far only Oyster Mushrooms they have been very consistent for us and there is a large amount of variation between varieties. So far we have blue, Italian, and golden oysters with many more to come throughout our season. As well as Lion's Mane, and 100 logs of Shiitake (which we will see fruiting next year).

So now, you might ask, where can these delicious and healthy morsels be obtained? At the moment the only store carrying them is Health & Nutrition in New Paltz, and unfortunately they have only ordered a small quantity from us for now. So I would encourage you all to get over there buy them up, and if they are out of stock already perhaps to say "I heard that you were carrying Fresh Local Mushrooms from Huguenot Street Farm why can't i find them?" ;)

Thank you again for all your support. I hope everyone is making it through these challenging times.

jeanclaudevan DAMME! Those pesky deer are just getting greedy at this point. Not only have they chomped their way through our beloved pumpkin patches, but also helped themselves to our beautifully covered and matured Napa cabbage. Seems as though their eyes were bigger than their stomachs... half eaten pumpkins everywhere! Tsk tsk tsk, my deer friends.
Who's hungry for venison stew?;)

The season's first distribution is only two days away! Getting the initial harvest in today was another success on the farm this week. Earlier, we peeled back the occultation fabric and were very pleased with the results. No weeds! We also moved the two tomato hoop houses to their new westerly home. We're looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday!
