Some comments hit you so genuinely.
A neighbor seeing our day to day work at neighbors. ♥️

“Your business will not only survive, but thrive. I say this because I sit in my overwatch position here at Ft. Vairma as I have for years now. I watch your dedicated employees working hard and treating your customers with respect and 1st class service. I don't believe I have ever seen a customer frustrated or complaining. I pray for a permanet solution so you never suffer through this again. Hang in there and be New Richland Strong.”

We miss these full of meat… usually too full…

In new Richland-
It’s eerie and quiet… too quiet
The saws and knives are going
We are all trying to process animals and catch up
But we miss our customers
It’s weird.

In new Richland we are very limited on what we have but we are open.
The ice cream made it and was good!
- so there’s that 🍦
Just give us a call or stop in.
For meat or meat orders
It’s different but we are trying.

We remain open in
Mankato and Owatonna
We are sad about the jerky being empty too….
There’s some things that are out
We will work on getting everything smoked and restocked as soon as we can.

We went to the city council meeting last night.
Citizens voiced their frustrations and ideas
Law makers, city officials, county commissioners, and some relief teams were there.
There were some people from town there…
We feel with how many were affected there could have been more.

Please be active in our city meetings, county meetings, state level and email or call your representatives and elected officials.

Everyone wants something to change and not go through this.
Everyone needs to work together and stand up for our city to see the change.

It’s heart wrenching what everyone has been through and continues to go through and to hear their stories.

Thanks for your patience!

we were surrounded by water and flooding happening all throughout New Richland and in our meat market.

Our work family persevered this week and dealt with the many challenges after the high waters.
We are amazed but not surprised at their determination and dedication to push through.
So much sorting, throwing away, transferring meat, and so much cleaning!

Many of our coolers and freezers are still not functional and it’s a strange feeling in the shop with so many of them being empty.

Our bread and butter of the butcher shop revolves around animal slaughter and processing. Dan made the goal that we could be cutting meat by Wednesday and slaughtering by Thursday this week.

And we did!

Today didn’t feel like a normal Saturday with a small group. Almost our whole crew volunteered on their weekend off and showed up to try to help catch up on beef.

Thank you to our refrigeration crew from Nicollet for always having our back! Midwest Refrigeration & Heating
& Geneva Bar & Grill for coming in clutch to help us out!

They both helped us with some temporary outdoor cold storage so we could sort what remained and clean.

It’s been a long week for sure…

We are very sad to see all of the people, homeowners, other businesses, and just everyone going through so much right now in New Richland.
Seeing everyone come together and help each other is one of the most inspiring hopeful experiences we love about our community.

We are thankful for everyone checking in and may reach out for help. We appreciate you all.
We are thankful we were able to keep electricity and able to monitor temperatures in our coolers and freezers. There were some that were able to keep working during all of this and some that were not.

An update as best we can give right now…
All hanging carcasses are good!
A very large majority of custom processed orders of beef, pork, venison are good!
There’s a lot of our homemade meats that are not good unfortunately…
we are thankful for the location of the custom processed meats and carcasses as they are the hardest of our meats to replace.

We will be calling farmers as we won’t be able to slaughter tomorrow but hopeful to later this week.

We will work on things as fast as possible to get up and going again from processing to all the store options as soon as possible.
We will maintain to have extremely high food safety standards in mind with sorting and cleaning processes.

Please have patience with us as we navigate what remains after the high waters.

Please join as a community to also push for answers and solutions as this is not a historic event in New Richland.
It’s happening frequently and it’s affecting the whole city.
