🌲6th Annual WINTER PORCH POT WORKSHOP registration is open!

Saturday, November 7
10am–noon
Dragonfly Gardens, Amery, WI

$70 for 1 pot
$120 for 2 pots (or bring a friend)

One of my favorite things about this workshop is that you'll be creating your winter arrangement right in your OWN pot!

Instead of purchasing another container, you can give one you already own a whole new look for winter. (14" pots will be available for purchase.)

So fun to see the variety!

Did you know, I harvest all the fresh greens and natural materials right from Two Bees, including:

🌲 Spruce tips
🌲 White pine boughs
🌲 Cedar or juniper
🌲 Dried flowers
🌲 Red dogwood
🌲 Pinecones

There will also be colorful ribbon options and a little extra bling available!

We'll gather in Dragonfly Gardens' beautiful, holiday-decorated event space, enjoy snacks and beverages, and spend a fun time creating together.

No experience needed! I'll walk you through arranging your greens to create a full, lush porch pot.

Come with a friend, make it a mother-daughter outing, or simply enjoy a little creative time for yourself.

Dahlia bed cleanup...

Phase one of my Dahlia bed cleanup has begun!

Kevin used a metal blade w**d whip yesterday and cut down what he could leaving about a foot high of the stalks. He's the best! 🫶

Then I went through and cleaned up the branches and cut back what was left to about 6 inches of stalk - you can see in the photo on the right.

Once the bed is cleaned up, I'll fold up the irrigation lines and store them inside over winter. Mice love to snack on them.

I plan on leaving my tubers in the ground for a while yet. There's no rush to get them out as the ground wont freeze solid for a while.

Plus these warm days arent great for storage.

It's best to store tubers in a space thats 40- 50 degrees over winter so they dont rot by freezing or shrivel up from heat.

🌲Big news! I had a few folks reach out who would like to create two porch pots at our Winter Porch Pot Workshop at Dragonfly Gardens.

So we've created a "BUY TWO" option just like our Take Home Kits. ($70 for 1 or $120 for 2!)

Now you can come to class with a friend or make two for your porch at nearly the same price as our kits (which are $60 each or 2 for $100).

Also, you are welcome to bring your own pot to the class which is great if you like what you already have.

😍 Check out this beautiful antique repurposed porch pot created a few years ago in class! She added lights when she got home. STUNNING!

Kevin asked me yesterday how I felt about the hard frost we had overnight.

He was surprised to hear me say, "relieved".

I explained that even though the fields look amazing, the You-Pick is harder to maintain as some varieties reach their limit, theres constant deadheading, and the bugs really start to take over.

I'm sad seeing flowers go to waste and the gatherings come to an end.

It reminds me of watching a beautiful butterfly struggle to fly. You know its nearing its time, but its hard to watch.

Isn't it true, the harder you love something, the harder it is to let go?

The frost was a final breath of letting go. A relief.

But this year was amazing.

Such beautiful moments were celebrated. I met so many incredibly kind people, worked with super helpers, and felt blessed by so much joy!

After the fall field cleanup, I look forward to planning next season!

It was a beautiful night for the Next Door Cafe's private party to create Pumpkin Centerpieces!

Such a fun way to connect outside of work! And everyone's turned out so pretty!

We even got to watch as The Hot Air Balloon Experience lifted off from the back yard. What a treat!

Its that time of year when I'm crawling around the Dahlia field, on my hands and knees, labeling Dahlias for hours.

Standing upright feels so good!

I don't know exactly how it happens, but there's always random Dahlias where there shouldn't be, so it's good to label them.

I use a stretchy colorful ribbon that I write the Dahlia name on and tie to the base of stem.

This year I grew a mystery variety that I hadn't intended to. I'm excited to see if I'll get lots of tubers from it.

It won't be long and the great Dahlia tuber dig will begin. 💪🏼

Hey friends, if you are looking for a place to take fall photos, I welcome you to make an appointment at our farm. We have beautiful paths throughout the woods, a gorgeous pond and the flowers are still blooming and look incredible during golden hour!
$25 per person individual/$50 per family.
