OUR STORY,

The Hidden Hen is a family-owned local farm in New Smyrna Beach, FL. We work very hard to provide a place for our animals and community alike to enjoy through education, classes, therapy and more!

We purchased our property in 2018. It was previously used to graze horses. At that time there were no structures on the property except for one small quonset hut. After a few years we were able to build our home and officially move in at the beginning of the pandemic in March of 2020. With the many challenges of the pandemic, we were able to slowly build a barn, a few shelters and fence in several fields.
At that time we started purchasing our beloved animals. Most at a young age, so we could work with them and make sure they were safe around our future patrons. Soon after we were also able to purchase the building for our future store and began stocking it with inventory. We opened our store in April of 2024 and officially opened the farm to the public in November of the same year. All of the prophets made in our store, admission and feed cups are used to feed approximately 150 animals that call The Hidden Hen home. Our mission is to now expand into exotics, especially those that are in need of new homes. To do this we will be building new enclosures as well as repairing and replacing due to the infamous Florida weather.
We are also looking to build a new playground and toddler zone for our community kids to explore, create and use their imaginations!

We truly thank everyone who supports us through this journey and we are excited to continue our mission through education and providing a place for our community enjoy.
