We have been inspired and encouraged to participate in the work of Carlos Patrini by our own regional leaders, Audrey Arner and Richard Handeen of Moonstone Farm, Montevideo, MN. https://moonstonefarm.net/contact.html

In 2010, Morgan Creek Vineyards’ award winning wines were invited to be served at the Sacramento California Slow Food Movement Wine Pavillon, where we learned more about Patrini’s work and the Terra Madre Festivals, world-wide.

These years of our commitment and striving to follow the principles of Terra Madre have gone by quickly, as we begin to experience the lives of our early leaders and mentors pass on… and leave the work to those who follow behind.

We are grateful and celebrate these humans who have taught us about a higher consciousness of the natural world, and how to bring this reality into our own daily lives. 🐝

Today, in the town of Bra (Italy), Carlo Petrini passed away at the age of 76.

A visionary leader and public intellectual with a profound commitment to the common good, human relationships, and the natural world, Carlo Petrini founded Slow Food, the international Terra Madre gathering, and the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo. Through these initiatives, he brought to life a global movement rooted in the values of good, clean, and fair food for all, connecting communities, farmers, food artisans, cooks, activists, and young people across the world.

“Those who sow utopia reap reality” - a phrase Carlo Petrini loved to say - encapsulates his life. He firmly believed that dreams and visions, when they are just, capable of inspiring collective participation, and pursued with conviction, are not impossible to achieve.

He combined the ability to dream with a deep sense of joy and collective purpose, paving concrete paths toward social change. His work was always rooted in collaboration with others, especially younger generations, and guided by passion, empathy, and fraternity.

His energy, his determination, and his lifelong dedication to others will remain a guiding force for the entire Slow Food movement and for all those who shared his vision.

Our Bison Blu ( a red, off dry-semi-sweet wine), and S&B BBQ Smoker Meats are coming your way - Saturday, May 16 for a great afternoon of Wine & Food!

Our award winning wine is a blend of French, and Minnesota varitals, revealing delicate blackberry and sweet to***co aromas, and a light finish of French toasted oak. It is an outstanding Summer picnic and grilling; wine. Our favorite pairing with baby back ribs is always a big hit!

AND - The BBQ pairing with baby back ribs is crafted by the guys from.- S&B BBQ and Smoker Meats Catering, Eagle Lake, MN. Their Food Truck will be serving a fabulous menu all day on the winery grounds. BISON BLU & BBQ is a match made in heaven.

NINTENTones! Debut - This Saturday 2:30 - 4:30 PM performing "Under the Portico at Morgan Creek Vineyards!

NINTENTones Video Game Jazz Orchestra will be Rockin' the afternoon with Ryan Rader (drummer) leading the new rhythms of the 2026 season! This Jazz Group of six pro-musicians have put together a new concept creating "core video game sound" in the language of Jazz, using video game tunes as the basis for all their creative jazz arrangements.

Two years ago, Ryan won grant funding from the MN State Arts Board - to develop this unique project and provide a series of video game Jazz arrangements for regional libraries. He is taking the
show-on-the-road again this season to generate new interest by reaching out to wider audiences. Morgan Creek Vineyards' gang is excited to offer TINTENTones a home for the season's BACCHUS FESTIVAL and welcome Spring with a fresh new vibe!

This week is always busy in May - getting ready for Spring Opener at Morgan Creek Vineyards!

Join us this Saturday, May 16th for the 28th Annual BACCHUS FESTIVAL for a kick-back afternoon to enjoy, Wine, Food, and of course MUSIC!

Here is our line up for a LAZY AFTERNOON in the countryside!

BACCHUS FEST #28 featuring the release of BISON BLU, our Spring wine celebrating the beginning of a new growing season. You may wonder why we selected this name for our Minnesota wine! Well, here is the scoop:

Bison Blu™ - a seasonal smokey off-dry red blend, is an annual Spring wine release celebrating the return of the
Minnesota growing season, and the reintroduction of the
American plains bison to Blue Earth County, wiith similar conservation goals in our region.

Our Bison Blu ™ firstrelease in 2015 marks the Morgan Creek Vineyards organic transition to biodynamic management practices and demeter certification.

The Minnesota Bison Conservation Herd has created a unique visitor bison drive at Minneopa State Park located near Morgan Creek Vineyards & Winery along the scenic Minnesota River Valley. The local herd is part of a genetically pure strain of bison managed by an interagency partnership between the Department of Natural
Resources and the Minnesota Zoological Garden. The partners are working cooperatively to preserve American plains bison and other prairie wildlife species native to our region.
