Fruit trees can be a lot of work. We battle deer, porcupine, insects, and disease. Cope with weather, and the crunch time with everything ripening at once.
But these peaches are pretty nice to have, even with their imperfections. Can’t wait for pears!

On a more positive note!
I found these unusual eggs on the back of a pear tree leaf. The little eggs are attached to long hairs coming off the back leaf surface. They are lacewing eggs!
Lace, wings attacked, aphids, and other problematic insects in the garden so I will leave these alone.

Go check your apple trees.
Our small trees were covered in these red hu**ed caterpillars (Schizura concinna). We removed them by hand tonight. There were 3-6 per leaf on 3 out of 6 of the trees we planted this spring.
Two of the trees were almost completely defoliated.
Smaller trees will suffer from this kind of insect pressure. Large trees can handle it better.
Some people don’t like the idea of removing the caterpillars because they are food for the birds. But it will save your young trees. Feed them to your chickens.

Anyone want to trade?
My peaches are ready, and I want to make peach salsa, but my tomatoes are not ready. I need 4-6 pounds of ripe paste tomatoes like Roma.
Anyone want to trade?
I have a beautiful head of broccoli some zucchini which are about 10 inches long, and some yellow summer squash. Or I could throw in some peaches.

I live in New Vineyard and do not want to go too far.

These little cast iron pans work great for baking bread.
Just leave the in the oven as it preheats so they’re hot when you put the dough in.
I do 3 at a time. Freeze or share ❤️

I may be onto something!
Value added boxed Mac and cheese. Just add some pesto and whatever cheese you have in the fridge. Top with garden tomato 😆
