5/16/25- That was some wild storm that rolled through the county! Hope you all made it through ok. We lost some limbs and our power has been out since 5:30 pm and estimated restoration isn’t until noon on 5/17/25.

Having chickens usually means I don’t need to buy eggs but my girls are molting hard and this weather is rough. I don’t put any artificial light in my coop so my egg production is currently at a halt. Imagine my surprise when this package of 18 eggs at the local Shoppers was over 10 dollars! Needless to say, ordering more chicks is high on my spring need list!

It’s the first snow day of 2025 and while there isn’t as much as I was hoping for, it was enough for me to have the day off. I’ve spent it putting away some Christmas decor, doing laundry and cooking. Cooking is my favorite thing to do on snow days!

So far I’ve started beef stew, I’ve made banana muffins to use up a few over ripe bananas and I made some egg muffins for meal prep this week. What are you doing on this snowy day?
