Hi, I’m Irene! I’m the owner, cake artist (and pretty much everything else 😃) behind Veg on Board.
If you’ve been following for a while, thank you so much for sticking around, and if you’re new, welcome!
Some facts about me:
- I’ll be celebrating my 10 year Veganaversary in February
- I’m married to . I promise we don’t mix mold and cake here
- We have two great kids and a super sweet Siamese cat named Mouse
- Jesus is my homeboy
-I’ve always loved animals and they’re a big part of why Veg on Board exists
- I love art, history, traveling and I’m probably one of the only people on Long Island that doesn’t drink coffee
-When I’m working decorating cakes, you’ll usually find me listening to podcasts on business, history, true crime and even crime scene clean ups
- I’m bilingual, and sometimes I’ll forget how to say a word in English and other times I’ll forget how to say a word in Spanish
I’ve always loved animals and they’re one of the reasons I created Veg on Board. When I first started, I wanted to offer beautiful, delicious vegan food that everyone could enjoy. I started with charcuterie boards, grazing tables and catering, but
I’ve always loved baking and cake decorating. For years I made sculpted cakes for my kids, family and friends so naturally I ended up going back to what I enjoyed making most. It makes me happy knowing I can help make celebrations more inclusive, so more people get to enjoy cake together, whether they’re vegan or have food allergies or just love good cake. I’m incredibly grateful every time someone trusts me to create something for their celebration.
Whether you’ve ordered from me, recommended me or you’re just following along, thank you sooooo much. Your support means more than you know.
Next month we’ll be celebrating 6 years of Veg on Board! I’ll be putting together a fun birthday giveaway, so stay tuned. I can’t wait to see what year 6 brings. ❤️
And a big thank you to for the headshot! I’m usually in my work clothes and flour stained tees, so having a professional photo taken was definitely a fun change of pace.
