About Annette A. Aguilar:
Annette A. Aguilar is a multi-percussionist and bandleader who
specializes in Latin percussion, as well as a recording artist, educator, and producer. Born in San Francisco to Nicaraguan parents, she started playing drums in sixth grade. By age sixteen, she was performing with notable artists from the Santana band, Pete and Sheila Escovedo (Sheila E.), and sitting in with Latin Jazz great Cal T. Jader. She studied classical music at San Francisco State University and earned master's degrees in music and music education from the Manhattan School of Music and Lehman College, respectively.
