Tonight, starting at 5:30 is our last U-pick session of the 2026 farm season!!

It’s been so beautiful seeing so many new and old faces on the farm. I started the farm with the intention of creating space for people, and as time evolves we have been able to open our space up little by little. Our U-pick events being one of those moments.

If you wanna come out, tonight is the last call! Tickets are available online or at the door! Steph St. Aubin and I are excited to see you all tonight

I’m coming in on 10 years of having the farm. Wow. With each year, I learn more about myself and the land we steward.

I’ve been listening and re- reading lots of Wendell Berry this week with his passing. Making a living off the land was never an adventure I set out to have, but life is windy and took me here. Each day, each week, each year brings new lessons.

I hope you enjoy this Wendell Berry passage as much as I do. He’s a grounding voice I come back to year after year, and its meaning sits differently as I grow.

P.s. sorry it’s so loud, that’s US steel. Yes we farm under these conditions

Thank you Phipps Conservatory for letting us come back year after year to teach the kind folks of about flowers. And more importantly, about dried flowers & the beauty of everlasting local decor. You sold out our first class of workshop season!

As a very task driven person, I often forget to take pictures when in the middle of one. Oops. But it’s nice to have friends who TA your workshops who are also photographers. Yeah I said it Michelle.

First light keeps pushing back minute by minute, which tells me the seasons are doing what they’re supposed to do.

In case you don’t know, we have this handy calendar on our website which shares what / where/ when you can find us. This includes our workshops! This fall we are doing a series (yes series), with Phipps Conservatory & Pittsburgh Botanic Garden , all in the realm of dried & evergreen florals. The best places to find those are on our website, along with our host’s websites.

I think one of the most beautiful things about where we are as a team, is that it’s my job to step back and trust that they’ve got it. Over the years of learning and failing, getting back up only to tumble again, I’ve learned that delegation and trust is one of the most quiet and vital parts to running a small farm.

Today felt huge, very huge. Lindsay Hagerty our farm manager, who has worked with me 5/6 years ?!? Took on the project of applying for a grant thru enterprise zone Forged X Four Enterprise Zone . We got it, and off she went to executing the project. We are building a shade structure right in our field!! Which will be critical to expanding our on - farm events. Every time we have a u-pick event, I think, gosh, we really need a space inside the fence-line for folks to hang out and chat and design their flowers. Now we do!!

This endeavor was able to happen this week because we are taking the weekend off from Bloomfield Saturday Market market. We typically take off the Saturday of Little Italy Days. So using that “down” time for a project like this (that would easily get pushed to the back burner) feels like a giant exhale.

And now off to the woods & lake for my bday

It’s August, and my brain is twirling around with so many thoughts.

Im full of gratitude, exhaustion, awe, anxiety, endless to do lists, admin tasks, never ending text/ signal/ WhatsApp/ discord/ group me/ dm’s/ phone calls, deep breathing, early mornings, late nights, Charlie XCX jams, dirty dishes, endless coordination, grant related projects, FLOWERS, wedding planning, friendship, long phone calls, etccccccc

Life is BIG, sometimes I wanna shrink, sometimes I wanna bloom. All I can say in August is, I’m along for the ride. And thank you endlessly for my people network who are along for the ride with me. I’ll champion you all day everyday

Our most fabulous team of ladies Steph St. Aubin & Ritual Soapworks will be at Bloomfield Saturday Market tomorrow and OMG are the blooms on point. Dahlias, straight bunches, mixed bouquets, dried flower bouquet sale (!!!), more stuff I’m likely forgetting
