The Randall’s Island Park Alliance, Inc. (RIPA), founded in 1992, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works with the City of New York and local communities to provide an innovative and exciting destination through a wide range of sports venues, cultural events and environmental exploration. As the dedicated steward of Randall’s Island Park, the Alliance sustains, maintains, develops and programs the Park to support the wellbeing of all New Yorkers. The Park offers over 330+ acres of parkland, nine miles of non-vehicular pathways, wetlands, an urban farm, a track and field stadium, a 20-court tennis center, over 60 athletic fields, and the Harlem River Event Site. Registration is now open for our free Wild Oyster Survey!🐚

On Monday, October 26, join us to discover Randall's Island's wild oyster population! In collaboration with Billion Oyster Project, patrons will find, measure, and examine oysters in our Little Hell Gate Salt Marsh to learn about the health of our waterways. Registration is required to attend. See you there!

Thanks to everyone, both seasoned and new, who joined us for an extremely successful season of Yoga in the Park! 🪷🧘‍♀️ In total, we had over 350 participants from May to September.

Each week, Nauti led us in a relaxing and calming yoga sequence along the waterfront with a beautiful skyline view. We even extended Yoga in the Park past the end date. We hope to see you all again next year!

Meet the latest additions to the Randall’s Island Park Alliance’s board of trustees!

Tim Howard - A U.S. Soccer icon who is currently a studio analyst for NBC Sports Soccer English Premier League coverage, Tim is one of the most decorated U.S. Soccer players in history. He brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the Alliance as we strengthen our commitment to growing the game of soccer through partnerships with premier youth programs and professional clubs.

Brandon Conovitz – President of TWELVE, a leading design agency founded in 2005 by his wife, CEO Katie Conovitz, that builds packaging and merchandise for brands across industries. We had such a wonderful time at our 2026 Harvest Festival! 🍂

Thank you to everyone who joined us on a chilly and wet day at Randall's Island Park. We picked the perfect pumpkins, learned about monarch butterflies, took beautiful fall photos, played within the bubbles, ate delicious frybread, took a cruise on the hayride, listened to great music, tasted fresh apple c***r, did creative crafts, and so much more. We'd especially like to thank all our partners who made this day full of fun!

We hope to see you on Saturday, October 24 for our Halloween Boo Bash in the White Garden!

Today's City of Forest Day Forest Walk and Bird Tour was a huge success here at Randall's Island Park! 🌳🐦

Throughout the walk, we aged trees using a special tree diameter measurement tool. There was an 18 year old tree, a tree between 50 and 65 years old, and a 150 year old tree! We also saw great birds in both our freshwater wetland and our Little Hell Gate Salt Marsh; house sparrows, grackles, a yellow crowned night heron, mallards, warblers, a mockingbird, crows, and more. We even saw a horseshoe crab!

Thanks to those who joined us today. We hope to see you again tomorrow for even more fun at our Harvest Festival!

NYC Parks is actively requesting proposals for the renovation, operation, and maintenance of a sports/recreation and food service facility at Randall’s Island Park!

Parks is looking for a concessionaire for a 30-year term for the site, that is approximately 14 acres in the northern portion of Randall’s Island Park, immediately north of Icahn Stadium at the site of our old golf center. The site occupies a highly visible location within one of New York City’s premier recreational destinations and is well positioned to serve park visitors as well as residents from throughout the metropolitan area.

The RFP is available for download, on Friday, October 2, 2026, through Tuesday, December 8, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET.
