Funky Munky Energy is a snack designed with you in mind. Loaded with purposeful, organic, plant-based ingredients to intentionally target different aspects of your wellbeing. Created and designed by co-founders Tabitha Yeh & Illeana Pennetto who believe that wellness begins from the inside out.
A little about the two...
What from the outside may seem like an unlikely pair has actually become the strongest partnership. Both uniquely different but morally aligned, Tabitha and Illeana met at the iconic Pl***oy Club 5 years ago. Tabitha, the Executive Chef and Illeana, the bunny hostess with the mostess, actually got into a tiff over an order of Truffle Fries. Yes, you read that correctly. Illeana refused to pay for her Truffle Fries at Tabitha’s command because “other bunnies get free food all the time.” Tabitha did not want to set a precedent because if she allowed Illeana to eat for free then everyone else would want to eat for free. Stubbornly, Illeana protested and left her shift that night without paying.
To apologize, Illeana later followed Yeh on Instagram as a “peace offering.” Yeh followed back and from there they were able to keep tabs on one another. One night at work while Illeana was leaving her shift, Yeh saw her and said, “I see you workout all the time.” Illeana responded, “Yes! Want to come with me to a class tomorrow? It’s at 9:30am.” Yeh, usually never leaving the kitchen until atleast 3am on a nightly basis, reluctantly agreed. The next morning, Yeh met her at a workout class and the rest was history.
It was the first time they hung out and the start of what became an incredible friendship. Since joining paths, they have merged their two worlds and created Funky Munky Energy to fuel their active lifestyles, now in turn delivering it to you.
