Professional Water Technology Safe, clean, great-tasting water should be available to everyone at an affordable cost. We introduced filtration systems to treat the water.

EZ PureWater was started in 1998 and is staffed with engineers and scientific personnel experienced in water treatment. The business was formed with the idea that safe, clean, great-tasting water should be available to everyone at an affordable cost. With that idea in mind, we introduced the line of undersink Reverse Osmosis filtration systems to treat the 1% of water that is actually used for drinking and cooking.

(New York City Coalition to End Lead Poisoning)

📍58% трубопроводов Нью-Йорка – точно не содержат свинец;
📍26% – потенциально содержать свинец;

As of the latest update on April 3, 2023, Philadelphia's drinking water is sourced entirely from surface water, specifically, the Delaware River Watershed that extends from New York State to the mouth of the Delaware Bay, including the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers. The Philadelphia Water Department provides an average of 300 million gallons of drinking water to residents each day. PWT INC Team has analyzed water quality test data from various sources, including the Philadelphia Water Department, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Environmental Working Group, and the US Geological Survey, to optimize custom water filters for customers in Philadelphia.

On March 24, 2023, a synthetic latex product spilled from a chemical plant along a tributary of the Delaware River, 13 miles north of the Baxter Drinking Water Treatment Plant, which is one of the three main water treatment facilities that supply water to Philadelphia residents. The Philadelphia Water Department took immediate action by shutting down intakes to the Baxter Drinking Water Treatment Plant as a precaution and implemented a monitoring plan to detect any contaminated water that entered the plant. After 24/7 monitoring, the Philadelphia Water Department declared on March 28, 2023, that Philadelphia's drinking water is safe to drink and use and that it has not been impacted by the chemical spill.

However, there are several contaminants of concern in Philadelphia's drinking water, including lead, chromium 6, PFAS, and disinfection byproducts. Lead contamination arises from the plumbing rather than the water supply, and around 20,000 homes in Philadelphia have lead service pipes. Though currently only 10% of water quality samples tested for lead analysis are reported to be 3 parts per billion or higher, the risk of lead in drinking water is higher than this number suggests. The EPA, CDC, and the American Academy of Pediatrics agree that there is no safe level of lead for children. Therefore, it is recommended to use a filter certified for lead removal, particularly in homes built before 1986. The Philadelphia Water Department conducts free lead tests for residential customers upon request.

Chromium 6 is a highly toxic metal that the EPA does not regulate. The Environmental Working Group's testing indicates that Philadelphia has Chromium 6 levels ranging from 0.22 - 0.75 ppb (220 - 750 ppt) with an average level of 0.39 ppb (390 ppt), which is 11 - 37.5 times higher than the generally accepted safe level. Ingesting Chromium 6 through drinking water increases the risk of stomach cancer and reproductive issues.

Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) are a class of emerging contaminants commonly found in firefighting foam, Teflon, non-stick surfaces, stain-resistant surfaces, and food packaging. The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry has found that PFAS exposure is associated with adverse health effects, including an increased risk of cancer, lowered fertility rates, and developmental issues in infants and young children. While Philadelphia has not reported testing for PFAS chemicals, the Environmental Working Group reported high PFAS levels in the groundwater of nearby military bases and neighboring water systems. Though there is no current allowable level of PFAS in drinking water, health agencies consider anything above 70 ppt as unsafe. Not all water filters are designed to remove PFAS from tap water, so it is recommended to use water filters that remove PFAS. PWT INC filters are NSF/ANSI Standard 53 certified for PFOA/PFOS removal.

Reverse Osmosis is a technology that is used to remove a large majority of contaminants from water by pushing the water under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane.
