Having attended business school for my graduate degree, worked in corporate America for over a decade, and read all the books on how to start a business, I had all the necessary tools. I had always heard you should do what you love, and after a bit of soul searching, I realized how much I love to bake. When I was a little girl, my parents were often busy doing their own thing and I often felt bore
d. I'd go through mom's Betty Crocker cookbook and look through our cabinets to see what ingredients we had so that I could create something. I also had the fortune of growing up 6 doors down from my grandmother who to this day at nearly 90 years old, still cooks and bakes from scratch. The hardest part was to make the decision to be a baker. Once I made this declaration, everything just fell into place. Many ask me, "So what is your business?" No, I don't specialize in just cupcakes, just macaroons, or just whoopie pies. What does this mean? I search all over for recipes, then I try them and make them my own. I also anticipate that you all will be reaching out to me with special requests. Given this my menu will always evolve to be sure to check back for the latest! For now, I plan to bake out of my home and grow the business through word of mouth. I will maintain my full-time job. As for the rest, we'll see what happens! Thank you to everyone for your support.
