Myrtle Village Green Myrtle Village Green is a community garden and green space on Mrytle between Franklin and Kent!

Myrtle Village Green is a public garden and green space for neighbors to build community, grow food and flowers, learn urban gardening skills, and to participate in greening NYC in a cooperative, welcoming environment. MVG includes an area for socializing and passive enjoyment of the space; community and private gardening plots to grow fruits, veggies, and flowers in; a shared herb garden; plots for local public and charter school kids; public compost bins for your kitchen scraps; & more.

Jack-O-Lanterns make great compost. MVG has public compost drop-off ours every Tuesday 10-Noon. Bring us your funky old jack-o-lanterns, and your old fruits, veggies, coffee and tea too. Leave it all in our green bins under the compost sign, and please remove any plastic or metal trash from your compost.
