A person was removing a tire from its rim when a small electronic-looking device unexpectedly fell out from inside the tire. The object contains a circuit board and appears to have been mounted somewhere within the wheel assembly.

Because it came from a vehicle purchased through a dealership, the owner suspects it may be related to tire pressure monitoring, balancing, or another factory-installed system. However, they are unsure whether it is an important component that needs to be replaced immediately or simply a broken part that had been left inside the tire.

Curious about its purpose and whether driving without it could cause problems, they shared a photo online to see if anyone could identify exactly what the device is🧐🤔🔥

A driver was on the road when something suddenly went very wrong with their vehicle. After the incident, they looked underneath the front suspension and discovered that a major drivetrain component appeared to have separated, leaving grease scattered on the ground and parts hanging where they clearly shouldn't be.
The failure seems to have occurred without much warning, leaving the owner confused about what exactly broke and whether it was caused by a worn suspension component, a failed axle, a damaged CV joint, or something more serious. The sight of broken parts underneath the car immediately raised concerns about safety and repair costs.
Because the vehicle can no longer be driven normally, the owner is trying to understand what happened mechanically, whether the damage is limited to a single component or may have affected surrounding parts, and how expensive the repair is likely to be.
They're now looking for insight from experienced mechanics and anyone who has seen a similar failure before.🧐🤔🔥

I already knew this job was going too smoothly… then this screw decided to snap off with absolutely nothing left to grab. 😭🔧

Now I’m stuck staring at this tiny broken piece like it’s holding the whole project hostage. There’s barely any room to work, it’s in one of those spots where one wrong move could make the problem ten times worse, and of course it had to break flush so there’s no easy way to turn it out.

I’ve heard people say left-hand drill bit, extractor, heat, punch it loose, weld a nut, or just drill it completely out… but everybody acts like their way is the only correct way. 😂

What would you try first before this turns into a bigger disaster?🧐🤔🔥

Picked up this older Quincy air compressor and I'm trying to decide whether it's a hidden gem or a project that's going to drain my wallet. The pump looks complete, the tank appears solid from the outside, and it still has that classic industrial Quincy build quality, but I haven't had a chance to fully test it yet. For those who know these compressors, what are the first things you'd inspect before putting power to it, and is this setup worth restoring if it needs some work?🧐🤔🔥

Still drivable or am I about to make a very expensive mistake?

I hit something on the highway on the passenger side and heard a loud bang from underneath the vehicle. Right after that, the dash lit up with a bunch of warnings like the van suddenly decided it was done being a vehicle.

Now it looks like I lost lane assist, hill start assist, emergency braking, and probably a few other electronic helpers I didn’t even know I had until they started yelling at me.

I crawled underneath and found this broken piece hanging down by the rear/passenger side area. I’ve got it tied up for now so it isn’t dragging on the road, but I’m far from home and need to know if this is something I can carefully drive around with for another week, or if I need to park it immediately before I turn one bad highway hit into a full financial disaster.

The wheel and tire still look okay from what I can see, but with all the warnings and this broken module/part hanging loose, I have no idea if this is just some sensor/assist system damage or something that affects braking/stability/safety.

Would you drive it short distances like this, or is this a “tow it and don’t be dumb” situation?🧐🤔🔥

How does this look for 250,000 miles? 🤔
This is a 10th-gen Honda 1.5T. I've done oil changes every 3,000 miles since I've owned it.
I only pulled the valve cover because the dealer said the gasket was leaking during some warranty work. Other than that, the engine gets driven anywhere from moderately spirited to pretty hard on a regular basis.
I'm just a weekend mechanic, but compared to some of the sludged-up engines I've seen online, this looks surprisingly clean to me.
What do you guys think?🧐🤔🔥

I'm underneath my vehicle and noticed this link connected to the sway bar looks pretty rusty compared to the surrounding suspension components. The bushings also appear worn, and I'm wondering if this could be contributing to some clunking noises and loose handling I've been chasing. Before I start replacing parts, does this sway bar end link look worn enough to warrant replacement, or am I focusing on the wrong component?🧐🤔🔥

A Toyota Tacoma owner recently discovered that the catalytic converters had been stolen from their V6 truck, leaving the exhaust system effectively open beneath the vehicle. Although they already have an appointment scheduled to have the damage repaired, they're concerned about whether it's safe to drive the truck to the repair shop.
The shop is only about 3.5 to 4 miles away and the route consists entirely of city streets. However, after reading numerous warnings online about hot exhaust gases, potential fire hazards, and the risks associated with driving without catalytic converters, they're worried about causing additional damage or creating a dangerous situation.
They understand the truck will likely be extremely loud, but their main concern is whether a short trip to the repair facility can be completed safely or if the vehicle should be towed instead.🧐🤔🔥

Nothing like finding out the expensive aftermarket parts might be the reason your valvetrain geometry is off. These Comp locks were supposed to be OEM spec, but GM locks dropped the height about .036 and suddenly the clearance problem started making sense. Still needs some shimming, but this is why you don’t just bolt parts together and hope for the best.

Would you run the GM locks or keep trying to make the Comp setup work? 🤔🔥
