Elixirs of Pain

Elixirs of Pain Hot sauces that not only scorch your taste buds, but actually taste good! Made with the best hand selected ingredients. Pain. Pleasure. I love spice.

You are here because for you, like a lot of us, the line is very thin between the two. How can it feel so damn good to be in so much pain? The more tears, sweat, and heavy breaths, the more you know you're loving your food... or whatever else this might translate to in your life. Give me your Sriracha, Tabasco, even Frank's when you serve me dinner. Hell, I'll take the crappy single serve "hot sau

ce" packets to choke down the food at faux-chinese food places at the mall. I can't get enough spice! It wakes up your palate and makes crappy food taste bearable. It transforms ok food into great food and turns good food into delicious lava in your mouth. There are so many hot sauces out there but they all seem to serve different purposes. Frank's, for me at least, only works with your "Buffalo-style-anything" food. Tabasco is so acidic that only works on very rich foods like burritos and pizza. And those hot sauces that have some generic Mexican person on the bottle are more of a last resort. All these, as good as they might be for their own purposes, are child's play to the seasoned brimstone eater (Notice I am not mentioning Sriracha because I can't think of a single thing that I won't put it on. Try it on PB&J, seriously. I'll wait and you can thank me later). This is where I come in. I have made a line of hot sauces that not only taste scrumpdeliumptious, they will melt the first three layers of your face off. Why not the fourth layer off your face, you ask? I learned from my adventures in spice that you can only make something so spicy until it completely overrides all the flavors. I feel like, with these sauces, I have achieved the sweet spot where heat and flavor mingle like unicorns with whales in a sea of pork bits (trust me, it's a good thing). All the sauces are made with hand selected quality products from a discerning food lover. No artificial preservatives are used in the making of the hot sauces. It is made in small batches to ensure maximum flavor and quality. A lot of care goes into making the Elixirs of Pain, yet it lacks love. It is not made with love because that would only make it weaker. It is made with passion that will burn to the very core of your being... or your butt.

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted anything because of some legal complications that I encountered regarding trademarks and such... things are almost resolved. For some reason I can't log into my kickstarter account, so if you messaged me there, I can't get to it. So please email me at [email protected].

For those of you who have been eating your sauces, what food did you discover goes well with which Elixir?

Pickups are ready! What you guys need to know:

18 E. 33rd St., in the middle of the block between Madison and 5th. It's the pizza place next to the Irish pub right across the street from the back entrance of the Staples.

This week I'll be open Mon-Wed, closed for Thanksgiving Thursday until Sunday. After that, Mon-Fri.

Best times to come are 11:00am to 3:00pm or 4:00-5:00pm. If you see a bunch of highschool kids in there (usually at 3:00-4:00), enter at your own risk. lol.

Please email me at [email protected] to let me know when you plan to stop by so I can be prepared.

I'm already preparing 10s and 20s so those should be out soon as well.

Whoa. So I think things are finally coming back to normal after Sandy. Long story short I wasn't hurt so I'm just thankful for that. It's been chaos but I feel like I'm finally getting back on my feet. I'll start packing the 20s and 10s and looking into the ones that weren't received asap. Hope everyone was ok!

Saturday I got a letter (hence the post about being under attack) from a lawyer in Oregon. I slept on it and decided I should ask as many people as possible for advice.
It's a cease and desist letter from NW Elixirs LLC (nwelixirs.com). I guess they also make hot sauce.
They say "the term 'Elixirs' in association with hot sauces constitutes trademark infringement, unfair competition, dilution, and other causes of action under state and federal law."
I have until Nov 12 before they take "immediate legal action".

I got credit (for the shipping labels for the $50s) back for about 10 of them, the refunds are moving at a snail pace so I decided to call them this weekend after I got out of work but they were essentially also out of work until Monday. I'm calling tomorrow to see why it's taking so long. In the meantime, I spent this weekend, like all the past few weekends, packing hot sauce. $20's and $10's, here I come!

Ladies and gents... we're under attack!

10/11/2012

Spent ALL last week packing them and sorting them. Even brought them home so I could do them after work and spent all weekend on them but..... $25's are out!!!

09/23/2012

I had a hiccup with half of the $50's so while I wait for the post office to open on monday to address these issues, I've been packing the $25s. I'm about a quarter of the way done with those so far.

This learning curve is very steep. Some mistakes were made but overall, getting better.

International packages weren't picked up by the US Postal Service on Friday due to the shooting at the Empire State Building (My restaurant is 250 feet away [76 meters] from where the shooting happened). I'm pretty sure it wasn't picked up because they closed down my street but should be picked up sometime this week along with the rest of the $100 pledges.
